changedNew Starter Bundle AddedChive is now selling a Starter Bundle! This one-time purchase is a great way to kick off a collection with 675 Gems, 3 random champions, 2 random epics, 3 random rares, and 10 random common cards, all for $7.99 USD! Visit Chive's in game shop to purchase.
addedNew Art AddedThis patch marks our first release of new card artwork! If you currently own the sketched version of a card, your card will remain as is, however new copies pulled from a booster pack will have the new art. The new art will come into effect at 00:01 Jul 23rd UTC, so if you're reading these patch notes now there may be some time to easily get the old sketched artwork still.
changedNew Art AddedFor Starter cards (such as Adreus), which are only earned through gameplay, you can toggle between the original sketch art (if you've previously unlocked it) and the new default art in the Card Details window. Future alternate art versions of Starter cards will be released as separate cards rather than through the toggle system.
addedGeneral UpdatesBy community request, there is now an option to protect a card from being traded or destroyed, called "sleeving". When you get that super rare card, or have a treasured pet card, it's terrifying to think that a slip of the mouse (or Del key) could erase it from existence. At the community's request, we've added an option to protect a card, which we're calling "sleeving" in homage to our physical TCG roots.
changedGeneral UpdatesWhen purchasing a shop item, there's now a much better UI that displays exactly what you'll be buying, and the odds of all items contained in a booster pack. We've gotten a lot of questions on what exactly are the odds of pulls in a booster pack, and previously that information was hidden away in a FAQ, which wasn't very customer friendly. We're putting it in a very obvious place in the client purchasing flow now, so that everybody is aware exactly what their odds are. We've also gotten requests to add bulk purchasing and opening of packs, and the truth is that we've been working on it, and have all the UI and animations ready to go (you can get a sneak peek with the new Starter Bundle), but we're currently running into issues with our backend server when buying so many packs in bulk (Our backend service rate-limits each account) so we're not quite ready to launch that yet.
addedGeneral UpdatesAdded a new button in the Options menu: Link Mobile Account When initially creating an account, after the tutorial, there's an option to enter an email address and password in order to be able to login to the eventual mobile client using the same account. Players who opted to skip that have asked us if there's a way to go back and re-add that information, and now there is! We encourage people to register their email if they are interested in mobile when it comes out.

General Updates

  • By community request, there is now an option to protect a card from being traded or destroyed, called "sleeving".

When you get that super rare card, or have a treasured pet card, it's terrifying to think that a slip of the mouse (or Del key) could erase it from existence. At the community's request, we've added an option to protect a card, which we're calling "sleeving" in homage to our physical TCG roots.

  • When purchasing a shop item, there's now a much better UI that displays exactly what you'll be buying, and the odds of all items contained in a booster pack.

  • Added a new button in the Options menu: Link Mobile Account

When initially creating an account, after the tutorial, there's an option to enter an email address and password in order to be able to login to the eventual mobile client using the same account. Players who opted to skip that have asked us if there's a way to go back and re-add that information, and now there is! We encourage people to register their email if they are interested in mobile when it comes out.

  • You can now rotate and scale stickers! Additionally, we've lowered the restrictions on placing the stickers, letting you place stickers on the devotion flags and over the edge of the card art if you want. It's your card, go wild.

  • There's now way more random fun stickers that can be earned in matchmaking.

Stickers have proven to be a surprise hit! We've had a lot of requests to find a way to rotate and scale stickers so they better fit the card art, and that's now possible. Use the mouse wheel to rotate a sticker, and hold shift while using the mouse wheel to scale the sticker up and down. For people without mouse wheels, sorry, we're still figuring out a control scheme that'll work (especially down the line for touch devices). Join our discord to see how the community has been using stickers to make works of art.

  • We've updated the rarity icon for alternative art cards. It's a subtle graphic, a small iron halo effect around the rarity gem.

Fixes

  • In-play versions of cards now display the stickers too.

  • Stickers are now much more accurate when placing, and have more floating point precision when placed.

  • Fixed various issues with Jappi where she would not consider many cards, such as a deck created by Tell, as new cards. Additionally, a Jappi that was created during a game wouldn't correctly understand which cards to copy.

  • Added a new rule for Jappi, found in her Rules Clarification text: Jappi's that create other Jappi's will not play cards as well, as this creates an infinite loop.

  • Fixed the tooltip for Drain which incorrectly stated that you could only gain as much health as the target had left.

  • Fixed various issues where Custom Cards that could crash a game server.

  • Fixed an issue where the game would add too many cards to your deck if you unlocked a faction and got their starter deck, but already owned any copies of those cards from opening booster packs.

  • Fixed a bug where the hit boxes of card backs would overlap when choosing a card back.
