A New Final Boss!

Test your mettle against the Block Knight, an almost invulnerable foe with one weakness to exploit.

Two New Regular Enemies!

Take on the toxic Frosted Drake and the ferocious Wherewolf.

New Events!

Visit an event node to encounter new stories, perils, and rewards!

Many New Items!

Wield your Point of View! Equip Assonance! Dominate with a Frame Narrative! Unleash Gibberish!

New Environmental Art!

The world of fiction has a bit more variety! A wider mix of background art will appear during combat.

Quality Of Life Upgrades!

We’ve also patched a host of bugs and added many small but important upgrades, like improved UI and better VFX.

  • Improvements to combat turn order messaging

  • Improvements to combat pacing

  • Clarified item descriptions

  • Added final boss Block Knight & Blockhead

  • Added enemies Frosted Drake and Wherewolf

  • Added Wherewolf’s new passive ability Rebuttal

  • Added enemy waves with recently added characters

  • Increased number of events from 7 to 13 (not counting follow-up events)

  • Added 6 new background paintings

  • Added literary devices Accumulation, Enjambment, Cadence, Gibberish, Assonance, Frame Narrative, Point of View

Balance Changes

  • Lowered store’s maximum prices

  • Adjusted enemy health and abilities

  • Removed final boss Jitterbog while we clarify respawning mechanic

  • Removed literary device Volta (ability to sell items is not that useful in a short demo)

Bug Fixes

  • Improved keyboard’s automatic tile prioritization

  • Fixed tooltip sizing

  • Patched bugs affecting animation, tile VFX, item UI, item effects, tile generation, reward collection, event choices, event outcomes, icon placement, and many other things
