Worlds Upon The Wind changes
This first update for the demo includes a bunch of new content, but more importantly fixes an engine bug that caused slow initial game loads, occasional crashes on game start, and rare cases where developments would stop working.
Thanks to everyone who gave feedback through the ingame bug reports, the Steam Community Hub, and on Discord!
New Glyphs
There are about 80 new glyphs, most of them in the Basic, Common, and Uncommon rarities.
These additions should allow for more creative starting deck configurations when you use the Replace Starter Glyphs skill. Many of these new low level glyphs also start out as undiscovered, giving you an incentive to take low level glyphs from rewards so you can later use them when customizing the starting deck.
Some existing glyphs have been updated for balance.
There are two new invocations:
Neglect halves the gains of a given yield.
Lock allows you to lock a specific site to prevent Fill-like invocations from affecting it.
Additionally, the Support invocation is now called Bless.
These new glyphs also conveniently cover all the grade 1 kanji and a good chunk of grade 2 & 3. All of them of course have hand-checked vocabulary and example sentences.
Negative Glyphs Rework
Negative glyphs have been changed so that they cast their invocations at the end of the turn if still in your hand. Some of them now also have essences.
Previously, these cards just clogged your deck. Now, there are real consequences for not dealing with them, either by discarding or slotting.
There aren't many sources of negative glyphs in the demo, but in the full game they will become more widespread.
Minor Changes
5 new events have been added, some rewarding new relics.
Several skill descriptions have been improved.
Several new UI sound effects have been added.
The relics quest that starts after the initial tutorial now requires only one relic instead of two. Existing savegames with this quest in progress will still need to find a relic to finish it, even if they have found another one already.
The difficulty heuristic for the kanji practice minigame vocabulary and sentences has been adjusted to more closely match JLPT vocabulary levels.
