The Clydebank Dockyard: Construction of Atlântico

The building of Pan-American Tier VIII battleship Atlântico commences in Update 0.11.3.

The warship will slide down the ways of the British Clydebank Dockyard that saw Steam post image Steam post image IX Marlborough sail out not so long ago. In the beginning of the 20th century, there were no dockyards in South America, which is why many design and construction orders for the region were handled by British shipbuilding companies and others.

Steam post image Steam post image VIII Atlântico is armed with ten 381 mm main battery guns that are placed in five twin-gun turrets and fire only AP shells. Atlântico's primary feature is her powerful secondary battery guns with a long firing range—ten 127 mm guns and sixteen 234 mm guns with a normal firing range of 7.5 km. The secondary battery guns are accurate, but they're not that easy to use—due to an arcing trajectory, the shells travel slowly. It's harder to attack maneuverable targets with such secondary battery guns, but at the same time, you can efficiently fire at slower ships and over islands. The 127 mm guns have the same accuracy as artillery mounts of German battleships, while the 234 mm guns have similar accuracy to Steam post image Steam post image IX Georgia and German battlecruisers. While the ship is quite slow for a battleship of her tier, she has a sturdy deck, a citadel with solid armor, and decent overall armor protection against high-explosive shells.

Event Rules

• The construction process at the Dockyard comprises 22 phases.

• These shipbuilding phases can be completed by progressing through Dockyard combat missions or by spending 1,750 Doubloons to pass through each phase.

• If you want to complete shipbuilding phases at a discount, you can purchase Starter Packs—eight shipbuilding phases in exchange for 8,000 Doubloons and three shipbuilding phases in exchange for 3,900 Doubloons. However, these packs will only be available for purchase prior to the point in time when you complete three shipbuilding phases by finishing combat missions.

• You can complete combat mission groups throughout the entire duration of Update 0.11.3 and during the first 3 weeks of Update 0.11.4. The Dockyard will remain available until the start of Update 0.11.5.

• In total, you can progress through 19 out of 22 shipbuilding phases by completing Dockyard combat missions.

• If you complete the construction of Steam post image Steam post image VIII Atlântico by spending Doubloons, make sure to keep progressing through the Dockyard combat missions—completing each phase will earn you 250 Steel.

Combat Missions

The new game event tasks you with completing 63 combat missions spread across seven groups. The first group will become available with the release of Update 0.11.3, while those that follow will be unlocked on a weekly basis.

Completing each of the first two groups will progress you through two shipbuilding phases—one for accomplishing certain missions and one for finishing the group. Completing each of the remaining five combat mission groups will progress you through three shipbuilding phases—two for accomplishing certain missions and one for finishing the group. [hr]

Rewards

By progressing through the Dockyard combat missions, you can complete 19 out of 22 shipbuilding phases and obtain the corresponding rewards at the Dockyard.

By finishing the first two combat mission groups, you can complete up to four shipbuilding phases and obtain the following rewards:
