Mandarin Chinese is now available in WonderLang Polyglot

Mandarin Chinese has officially been released in the WonderLang Polyglot version. The single-language Mandarin Chinese version is coming soon and is currently pending Steam approval.

Immersive Chinese learning

Learn practical Mandarin Chinese through every conversation, quest, and puzzle. Enjoy more than 45 hours of combined gameplay and learning.

Three difficulty modes are available to adapt to your level: Very Beginner, HSK 1, HSK 2.

Skippable Pinyin module and smart input support

Start with a dedicated Pinyin module that teaches pronunciation and tones step by step. You can progress at your own pace or skip it entirely if you already know Pinyin.

Choose how you want to answer exercises:

• Type Chinese using Pinyin input

• Select characters directly for precise answers

Flexible reading modes and Pinyin support

Choose between three character learning modes:

• Pinyin only (no Hanzi)

• Top 110 Hanzi (learn the most common characters while keeping the rest in Pinyin)

• Full Hanzi

You can also enable an option to display Pinyin above Hanzi, showing pronunciation and tones to make reading easier.

Practice drawing Hanzi directly on your screen to internalize stroke order and improve writing memory.

We are also planning to add Traditional Chinese character support within the next 6 months.

Japanese updates and new challenges

🈶 Learn 110 Kanji Mode (Japanese)

We added an optional Top 110 Kanji Mode to the Japanese and Polyglot versions:

• Learn the 110 most common kanji used in the game

• Can be enabled at the start or switched at any time

• Practice drawing kanji directly on screen

• Animated stroke order guides

  

🏆 New optional challenges

A new quest has been added: The Search for the 110 Gnomes.

Explore WonderLang, find hidden gnomes, and report back to the Gnome King in the first village.

• In Japanese (110 Kanji mode): gnomes teach kanji

• In other languages: gnomes help you review words you previously got wrong in combat

Coming soon: what’s next

• WonderLang English is planned for February 2026, with two modes:

  • British English

  • American English

• In Spring 2026, we also plan to add:

  • Mexican / Latin American Spanish to WonderLang Spanish

  • European Portuguese to WonderLang Portuguese

These will be free updates for existing owners of those language versions.
