fixedSystem integration and bug fixesThis month we have worked with various systems to integrate them with the new version of Wolfpack. We have upgraded all of the materials inside the u-boat to work with the high definition pipeline. We have updated the world map, so that it more closely maps to the 3D world. We have made it possible for the u-boat to dock in all harbours, and we have fixed a multitude of bugs.
addedThe u-boat bunkerIn the new open world version of Wolfpack, the u-boat needs to refuel and restock between missions. This is done by docking in harbours. It is possible to dock in any friendly harbour to refuel, while the harbours that have u-boat bunkers in them work like home bases.
addedThe u-boat bunkerIn the bunker, the player can walk around in first person, create new u-boats, upgrade and repair the u-boat, and get new missions. When the game starts the players all start in the bunker, it is used as a hub where players can meet and form new crews.
addedThe u-boat bunkerSince the bunker is no longer just a menu background, but a fully walkable and interactive environment, we have put forth considerable effort into upgrading its visual fidelity. This means new 3d-models, textures and lighting.
addedWhat’s next? All major systems for the game are completed, but not fully integrated. During the next couple of months we will be tying all of the new systems together into a whole. This work will consist of integrating all of the systems, fixing bugs, and updating the UI to match all of the changes that have been made to the game.

System integration and bug fixes

This month we have worked with various systems to integrate them with the new version of Wolfpack. We have upgraded all of the materials inside the u-boat to work with the high definition pipeline. We have updated the world map, so that it more closely maps to the 3D world. We have made it possible for the u-boat to dock in all harbours, and we have fixed a multitude of bugs.

The u-boat bunker

In the new open world version of Wolfpack, the u-boat needs to refuel and restock between missions. This is done by docking in harbours. It is possible to dock in any friendly harbour to refuel, while the harbours that have u-boat bunkers in them work like home bases.

In the bunker, the player can walk around in first person, create new u-boats, upgrade and repair the u-boat, and get new missions. When the game starts the players all start in the bunker, it is used as a hub where players can meet and form new crews.

Since the bunker is no longer just a menu background, but a fully walkable and interactive environment, we have put forth considerable effort into upgrading its visual fidelity. This means new 3d-models, textures and lighting.

What’s next?

All major systems for the game are completed, but not fully integrated. During the next couple of months we will be tying all of the new systems together into a whole. This work will consist of integrating all of the systems, fixing bugs, and updating the UI to match all of the changes that have been made to the game.
