Hello everyone! It's been ages since I've touched the Steam page for Wish Creatures. I'm the only person programming the game, you're telling me I have to market it too? ːwinter2019joyfultearsyulː

Most Wishlisters came from MAGfest, which was all the way back in January! If you need a reminder, watch this trailer to go over the core concept.
Resolution Changes
The Wish Creatures world camera is now 128x72 (up from 128x64). The game is now a true 16:9 resolution and scales much better in fullscreen! This also gives certain UI elements more breathing room. Take a look!

Character Portraits
The story of Wish Creatures has been brewing for a bit. I'm just now getting to the in-game system programming that will allow for cutscenes, so Marty Moon has started drawing characters. Here's some early portraits of the player character, Ray!
New Area
Find a sci-fi highway with flying cars and teleporters in western Monstoria!
Custom Battle Animations & More!
Battle actions can have unique animations. Stronger actions have more visual build-up and can even shove monsters or cause screenshake (which is toggleable in the accessibility menu)!
The inventory UI has also been completely redone. There are now tabs to filter which items are displayed, making it easier to find what you need. Action Upgrades are now handled with items you can obtain regularly during your journey, so battles and recruitment aren't bogged down with additional menus. Perfect monster recruits now award Heart Shards, which form a very useful item called the Heart Token when you collect enough Shards! Heart Tokens significantly boost recruitment points when offered as a gift.
Launch Window & Conclusion
Thanks for sticking with me on this wildly out-of-scope project! Haha... we're almost there. Finally.
Wish Creatures will launch roughly within Q4 2025 / Q1 2026. I'm currently job hunting, so depending on the results, I might have less time for development. That's the reason for the wide window.
