Wings of Vi 2: Guardian's Heart
Hey everyone! I want Wings of Vi 2 development to be completely open and transparent. Raw progress updates, early builds, your feedback shaping the game, and all of us creating the best possible sequel side-by-side.
It’ll stay true to my vision (the one you loved in the first game), but your input will help me tune everything to perfection.
Guardian’s Heart – The Story
Ten years after Jeh’oul’s fall, Vi now carries the Guardian’s Heart – the final gift from her mother’s sacrifice. Only she can face the new threat rising:
Myougi, the grieving daughter of the underworld, has unleashed the manifestations of the Seven Deadly Sins to reclaim what she lost – no matter the cost.
From the Avatar’s holy seat, Vi descends into a fractured world of divided tribes, ancient beasts, sunlit shores, and shadowy grottos. Old friends return, new allies emerge, and everyone will confront hidden truths about themselves.
This time, victory demands love – the kind that survives loss, weighs the price of mercy, and resists forbidden power. But Myougi’s desperation has no limits. She’ll shatter the realms themselves if it means having her mother back.
The Sequel – Fluid, Accessible, Transformable
Building upon my custom engine, I aim to make Wings of Vi 2 the tightest, smoothest platformer I’ve ever made – more accessible than ever. That doesn't mean it's easy, and there's of course optional difficulties for the masochists (the RAGE).
Overworld Map – Quest-heavy story chapters, bite-sized trials, pure movement showcases, combat gauntlets, side-quests, secrets everywhere.
Fast & Fluid Combat – Attack while moving, mid-dash, mid-flutter. Chain everything into seamless combos and juggle enemies like a god.
Spells & Talents – Stack Holy Fire DoT, throw returning Celestial Spears, chain demons to fight for you or have your allies fight WITH you, Haste/Slow time, AoE abilities… some fun min-max depth.
Movement For Days – Double jump, flutter (2 charges or 1 long hold), ledge grab, leaping slam, Divine Shield hover, Holy Blast bounces - feels like cheating (in a good way).
Solo-dev’d by the creator of Wings of Vi and I Wanna Be the Boshy.

Stance on AI / overall plan:
Will start out development with AI music / SFX
Later, get artists to replace / add music and SFX
I agree: human made music can be better than AI ever could (but I still can enjoy any type of music if I vibe with it)
Optimally: replace all music and sound with AI
Realistically: replace most tracks, supplement with AI (dialogue loops, transitional music, small unique areas)
Possibly: Kickstarter that will fully fund all music being made.
Why have them in the first place? Because music inspires me a lot, I enjoy creating them and I wholeheartedly enjoy them
I don't consider myself a musician, I take some "pride" in customizing them and I have a good ear, but not in any way how I do with my art.
