Demo Update - Version 0.2.5

changedWe tweaked some lighting in the opening cutscene to be all around better and more cinematic: Steam post imageYou might also pick up on the tweaks to Max's scavenger perk . We tweaked how scrap is obtained from frosties. Instead of a chance of scrap - you now always get scrap from enemies. It's just a much smaller amount. It makes his perk a little more clear in operation aaaaaand it allows us to make traps that buff how much scrap is obtained when frosties die on them!
changedDeath/respawn menu not opening - I overhauled the code on how the death menu pops up to hopefully fix those of you who couldn't respawn after dieing! I threw myself into countless pits and died in as many ways as I could and could not replicate after my fix, but if you ever find it happens again please let us know!
changedBear Paw Heights furnace - We adjusted the map a little bit so it costs 4 blockers instead of 2 to block one of the early routes. This makes you have to really consider if you want to block the path or deal with the horde right away
addedWe have also been hard at work on some new art for the steam page so if you have any thoughts on the new action packed capsule let us know!

While most of our time is spent working on the full game furnaces at the moment, I took a little breather to do some updates on the demo! These changes will of course carry over to the full game.

Other notes we have patched:

  • Death/respawn menu not opening - I overhauled the code on how the death menu pops up to hopefully fix those of you who couldn't respawn after dieing!   • Time does not progress until tutorial furnace is beat - We already introduce a lot of things up front so we wanted you to get the hang of the game before our day/night cycle kicks in.

  • Stalled enemies - Enemies used to find themselves in situations where they would get stalled and couldn't recover on their way to the furnace. I would say we are about 90% more reliable in that department and if they find themselves stuck for more than 20 seconds we just get rid of em. It's no fun not being able to clear a wave because a hoser is staring at a wall.

  • Bear Paw Heights furnace - We adjusted the map a little bit so it costs 4 blockers instead of 2 to block one of the early routes. This makes you have to really consider if you want to block the path or deal with the horde right away

  • Carry Weight for Finley - He wasn't getting that perk properly applied before - so it is now working! Thanks for letting us know about that!

We have also been hard at work on some new art for the steam page so if you have any thoughts on the new action packed capsule let us know!
