Since I first shared Why's It Getting Darker?!, the most common feedback I’ve seen is:"Is this Subnautica 1.5?"or"It gives me Iron Lung vibes."

First off - I’m a huge fan of both. Those games are masterpieces of atmospheric horror. But while they were definitely inspirations, I want to show you why Why's It Getting Darker?! is a completely different kind of nightmare.

  • The Lethal Camera: You aren't just looking through a viewport. Your camera is your primary tool for gathering data, but the flash is like a dinner bell for the things in the dark.

  • An Ecosystem that Hates You: You'll see creatures fighting each other, but the moment you interfere or make too much noise, the entire food chain turns its attention to your hull.

  • Active Survival: This isn't just about the atmosphere. You’ll be managing oxygen, managing fear levels, and trying to stay quiet while something much bigger than your sub circles outside.

I’m building this game to be an intense, reactive experience where the ocean actually feels like it’s watching you.
