As the “Base Building Unleashed” update enters its beta phase, it feels like the right time to give you a clearer look at what’s coming next.

I - Overview

II - Strengthening the Foundations

Before introducing new biomes, my goal is to deliver the best possible gameplay experience. That’s what the first four updates are all about.

Each one brings its own set of features built around a clear theme, while regularly integrating your feedback, improvements, and fixes. Keep sharing your ideas—they truly make a difference: [url="[https://whisperoftheswallows-feedback-jorjzrgf.featureupvote.com/](https://whisperoftheswallows-feedback-jorjzrgf.featureupvote.com/) "][https://whisperoftheswallows-feedback-jorjzrgf.featureupvote.com/

✅ 1 - Difficulty Customization (March 2026)

The “Difficulty Customization” update was the very first one released. It introduced fine-tuned settings to shape the experience around your own playstyle. Death penalties, hunger, rest… everything can be adjusted. You can also change the difficulty at any point during your journey, if needed.

✅ 2 - Combat Update (April 2026)

The Combat update arrived at the end of March. Movement is smoother, encounters are sharper, and the overall feel has been significantly improved to strengthen the experience. When you run into a group of monsters, the best option is still often to retreat, observe, and strike at the right moment… but this time, you actually stand a real chance of surviving.

▶️ 3 - Base Building Unleashed (Planned May 2026)

The third update, currently in beta, is entirely focused on building. Expect log-based structures, snow-covered roofs, many new pieces, full rotation freedom—even in the most unlikely angles—and an improved snapping system. You’ll still die… but this time, you’ll respawn inside your own cabin, warm and welcoming.

🎯 4 - Whispers Aligned (Planned July 2026)

The “Whispers Aligned” update is dedicated to finalizing the two existing biomes. A full update focused on fine-tuning progression, improving dialogues, and adding content in preparation for the next biome.

III. Expanding the World

🎯 1 - Gan'yū - Shadowed Stone

Planned release: November 2026

Gan’yū is the third biome of Whisper of the Swallows —those vast mountains you see in the distance while crossing Unchū. Frozen, unforgiving… and rich in Titanium.

It also marks the third step of the spiritual journey. Here, memories are etched into stone, waiting for the soul to confront them one last time.

🎯 2 - Yukiguni - Eternal Snow

Planned release: May 2027

Yukiguni is the final biome of Early Access. A frozen land where time itself seems to stand still.

Beneath endless snow lie the last traces of will… waiting for the final step of the journey.

This is where Early Access will come to an end, with the release of version 1.0.

What’s next?

There’s still a long road ahead… and I’m glad to be walking it with you.

The dates listed are estimates. I will always prioritize the vision over strictly sticking to milestones. I’m developing Whisper of the Swallows on my own, driven by the desire to create the kind of experience I’ve always wanted to play. I spend a lot of time inside my game. I go back when something doesn’t feel right… and sometimes I’ll spend an extra week on
