NEW Demo Update (v0.7.4)

What's new

  • Introducing PIPS! Pips are a how the Celestial Sprites gather and store their unique power. They are going to be scattered through a number of Galaxy Games. They are now making appearances in Comet Collect, Gravapult and Constellation Catch (with their eyes closed). They have also snuck into the main menu and the Academy!

  • We introduced new spawning and death visual effects, so it is more obvious where players are spawning and when they die offscreen.

  • The bouncy planets have been turned into pink jelly and scattered thoroughly throughout the "Overload" Galaxy Game.

  • The visuals for ice planets have been improved. Making them look more like ice! You will also slide on ice faster when landing on an ice planet!

  • Boost Pads have been improved with better visuals and sound effects. They are also making more appearances across the galaxy! Like in Event Horizon, Star Ring and Overload.

  • Platforming has an updated "feel". The fall speed is slower, but the max. fall speed is higher! You will also break into a sprint much sooner when running perpendicular to gravity for long enough.

  • Bouncing off the ground has been improved, so you should be impossible to get stuck in an infite loop of bouncing between planets.

  • You will now daze or stun a player for a short time if you land on their head.

  • Orbit had a makeover and Sprout became a little more lime coloured!

Galaxy Games

  • [Overload] We fixed a few rare bugs that could cause the game state to be stuck in Overload. Nobody would have the bomb and the game wouldn't couldn't conclude.

  • [Overload] There is a lot of jelly around the outside of Overload maps. We want you to stay close to your competitors! But obviously, not too close.

  • [Event Horizon] We limited the distance the black hole can travel across the screen and we slow it down as it gets further to the right. This increased the theoretical maximum distance you can travel.

  • [Event Horizon] We fixed some player spawning bugs which were causing players to spawn inside the black hole once it was very far across the screen.

  • [Constellation Catch] The stars now morph into our PIP characters (without their eyes). We hope this will help with accessibility, so the silhouette can help players discern who owns a star without relying on colour.

  • [Comet Collect] We introduced a new feature we are very excited about; goal magnetism! If a ball flies towards and is close enough to a goal area, it will be magnetised to that goal! It is now much easier to collect comets. But be careful about collecting comets for other players!

  • [Gravapult] We fixed a number of bugs making it hard to throw bombs while you are standing on the ground. The bombs are also affected by gravity in a slightly different way now.

  • [Gravapult] Our new PIPs are the center of attention in Gravapult. Your PIPs are the guardians of the planets you are protecting. Be sure to treat them well and push the bombs off and away your planets.

Thank You For Your Support

We really appreciate everyone's support so far and we can't wait to kick things up a notch really soon!

Until then, we hope you enjoy the updated demo and we cannot wait to see people go hands-on with it.

If you do play the demo and want to post about it online on social media, please show us your fun times by tagging us @WhichWayUpGame.

With love, The Turtle Flip team
