I updated the demo for Where Is Here: New Home. In a couple of weeks, I had some feedback from the people that tried my demo.

What did I changed or fixed?

  • All game objects changed to Dynamic Occlusion ( when player is moving, the game objects doesn't disappear at the corner of the player's camera.

  • added effect to red vignette around the player to fade and to numbers for the timer.

  • Deleted unnecessary LODs in game objects.

  • Found some game objects that had mesh collider, removed it and added box colliders. So the frame rate is running smoother. Mesh colliders lags the game if there are too many. I tried to change them all in box or sphere colliders.

  • The player can move in most of the conversations. For most people it was too irritating to stand still while conversations.

  • Change loading screen with a loading text rotating. You can notice if the game is running and freezes when it's ready to load the scene.

  • Fixed the particles of lights. It was URP Unlit so I changed to Simple Lit transparent/Additive because you would see black squares and it was weird.

  • Some volumes in the audio's were too low so I set it higher to hear the conversations better.

That's it!

I hope the demo is a bit better to play it. For me, it seems better because of the feedback. It plays smoother. :D
