Welcome to the World of Darkness
You know the empty roads.
The forests are ripped open for profit.
The rivers that do not run clean anymore.
The company towns where everyone knows something is wrong, but no one can afford to say it out loud.
The locked gates.
The security cameras.
The smiling corporate language wrapped around something rotten.
At first, it looks like our world.
That is the first lie.
This is the World of Darkness.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse is White Wolf’s supernatural horror franchise set in the World of Darkness: a version of our reality where monsters exist, ancient powers move unseen, and the modern world is much more haunted than it pretends to be. But this is not horror about a castle on a hill. This is horror in fluorescent light. It lives in labs, factories, boardrooms, refineries, remote work camps, private security checkpoints, and government reports that bury the truth beneath clean language. It hides behind money. It hides behind procedure. It hides behind the idea that everything terrible is simply “ the cost of doing business. ”
Werewolf The Apocalypse Rageborn The World of Darkness is familiar because it is built from things we recognize.
Greed.
Exploitation.
Pollution.
Violence.
Systems that keep moving even after everyone inside them knows they are doing harm.
The difference is that, here, those things leave a spiritual wound.
And some wounds grow teeth.
The world is dying. The Garou can feel it.
In Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Rageborn, you play as Taylor, a newly awakened Garou — a werewolf bound to both flesh and spirit, human and wolf, Rage and purpose. To most people, the world is just getting worse.
To the Garou, the truth is sharper.
The Earth is not just land and water. She is Gaia: the spirit of the world itself. And Gaia is dying.
The Garou are among the few who can feel that death in their bones. They sense the poison beneath the surface. They see the corruption that others rationalize away. They hear the howl underneath the noise.
They know the Apocalypse is not coming someday. It is already here.
The Wyrm is Rot Given Purpose
In the World of Darkness, the Wyrm is a force of destruction, decay, corruption, and entropy. It festers where greed becomes limitless, where suffering becomes profitable, and where the living world is reduced to raw material. The Wyrm does not always announce itself with claws.
Sometimes it wears a suit.
Sometimes it signs permits.
Sometimes it funds research.
Sometimes it builds a facility in the middle of nowhere and tells the locals it is bringing jobs, progress, and safety.
What This Means in Rageborn
Rageborn is a top-down progression-based action adventure, and the World of Darkness is the setting in which you will make your stand. The World of Darkness is such a rich and stories world and we, the team at crea-ture Studios, wanted that world to shape the way the game feels. You are moving through a world that has been wounded, occupied, studied, and exploited. Every facility, forest path, hidden chamber, and corrupted site is part of a larger war between the physical world and the spiritual rot beneath it. As Taylor, you become a weapon and shift between Homid, Lupus, and Crinos because no single shape can survive everything the World of Darkness throws at you. We’ll talk more about the specifics of each Form in the future, as each were designed to interact with the World of Darkness in very specific ways that unlock new secrets and action at every turn.

Rageborn embraces horror, blood, and gore as part of its identity in the World of Darkness. You are a Garou, and when the fight turns violent, it becomes physical, brutal, and immediate. Crinos is not just a “powered-up form.” It is the war-form: Rage made flesh, built to tear through the enemies poisoning Gaia. But the gore is not there just for shock. It is evidence.
Evidence that the Wyrm does not only corrupt ideas. It corrupts bodies. It twists people, animals, machines, and spirits into things that should not exist. Fomori, Banes, possessed creatures, and Pentex experiments are not just obstacles in your path — they are the visible symptoms of a world rotting from the inside out.
