Welcome, Dear Human changes
Hi!
Ronkad here.
Today I want to give you an update on the upcoming Welcome, Dear Human Steam demo, share a few behind-the-scenes things, and show off some wonderful fanart from the community.
Ready? Let’s go!
Development Update
We are currently getting closer to finishing the Steam demo for Welcome, Dear Human.
The new demo will include the Sleep Paralysis Demon story, as well as a part of Octo’s story.
But don’t panic yet.
Before we can release it, the demo still needs to go through playtesting, voice acting, localization, and some final polishing. After that, we hope to get it into your hands as soon as we can.
Last week, we also launched our internal playtest for the upcoming Steam demo.
To get the demo out to you as soon as possible, it will only launch with a small number of languages at first. We plan to expand the available languages over time.
For the new content, the demo will include one full ending, while the other branches will be continued and expanded on in the full game.
One thing we noticed pretty early during playtesting: the ending was very hard to find, and none of the playtesters found it on their first playthrough.
So we’re currently looking at how to make the path feel fairer, while still keeping the mystery.
The new demo also includes more than just new story content. We have completely overhauled the UI, save system, and gallery.
So even if you played the original itch.io demo, this should feel like a much more complete version of Welcome, Dear Human.
Trailer
I still can’t believe it.
The announcement trailer for our game has gotten over 100,000 views on YouTube.
That is a huge number of monster lovers who saw our vision, and we are incredibly grateful for the support.
To celebrate, here is a collage from the animatic of the trailer:

We also have a new track in the game.
I wonder what this could be used for...
And here are a few new images from development:
