Jump at the centre of a political game in the capital city of Edoran. Isandrin is a city wide setting like you haven’t seen in Wartales for a while, adding everything that makes such a setting different from the rural regions.

The seat of the Empire breeds intrigue, conspiracy, and shadowy power plays. The Legion appointed a new puppet to strengthen their hold on the Capital, but he has other ideas in mind. As the young General Maxim reshapes the Capital through bold reforms, it is up to you to restore order and figure out how to bring lasting stability to Isandrin.

This unique situation is represented by a chaos bar at the top of your User Interface and will increase depending on the events happening in the city.

The more you leave the city as it is, the more riots and other events will lead to a rise in price by the last merchants bold enough to come here. Some places will also be unavailable and less contracts will be opened for you. You can also expect to encounter more bandits and fights in the street.

Chaos will gradually rise if you let the situation remain as it is and will eventually lead to a Crisis. This can be resolved by fighting, but you'll mostly want to target the problems directly to reduce chaos beforehand.

You can reduce chaos by confronting its sources directly. For that, there are three new special battles that you'll have to handle:

  • Convoy

    • Rioters can attack merchants to steal their loot. Your job will be to protect those merchants.

  • Burning

    • A fire has started, and you will have to evacuate civilians from the flames and rioters.

  • Capture

    • Patrols can be ambushed by rioters. You can intervene to prevent their capture.

Depending on your success in these battles, you will reduce chaos (or see it rise because of your failure). Fortunately, there are other ways to act.

If you feel wiser and less violent for some reason, you can roam around the city performing good deeds. For example, you can give money to charities, sing praises to the city, or even better, tear down bad propaganda posters and replace them with good ones!

Use all these tools to ensure the city doesn't tear itself apart.

We hope you’ve learned a lot from this read, and we can’t wait to see how your actions shape the Capital. Isandrin is a big city, and you’ll have a lot to do in it!

If navigating the chaos in the Capital is something you'd like to experience, don’t forget to wishlist the DLC on Steam. This really helps us out and lets us know you’re interested in the upcoming content.
