Development Recap: New Aircraft, Graphics, Campaign Improvements, and More

It has been a little over three months since the Steam release of Warplanes: Air Corp, and it's a good time to sum up all of the changes, improvements, and new features added in the updates.

addedFlight model improvements and further flight setupThanks to player feedback, we've introduced multiple flight model tweaks to make vehicle control pleasantly smooth. Flight Setup gives you a wide range of options to customize control sensitivity and in a nutshell – physics to your preferences.

Takeoffs, landings and reloading

Introduced as a direct response to the community's most frequent suggestions.

Two new helicopters and VTOL mode in MF-35

  • Hi-24 Hind – generously outfitted with armaments and thick armor.

  • ND 530C – lightly armed helicopter for reconnaissance that also unlocks brand new mission type.

  • MF-35 – enriched with a VTOL mode.

Campaign improvements

Changes also affected the campaign, we improved the balance, and mission objectives are now clearer. There is a new mission type – the evacuation of a soldier. Further development of the single-player mode is planned.

Graphics improvements

More varied times of day. A lot of subtle changes that give an improvement in the visuals quality – we added naturally lit clouds, and the horizon looks more realistic. We've expanded the lighting system and shaders, making reflections more vivid. We've added new assets to add variety to the environment – apart from airports, several new structures and buildings have appeared. There were also some minor enhancements like posters in the base.

Further development
