Warp to Sector One changes
T0001 [SYS] CONNECTION ESTABLISHED. WELCOME TO SECTOR ONE.
Hello SectorLords! Early Access is now here!
If you ever dialed into a BBS after school and lost your evenings to Trade Wars 2002, and thought the wireframe graphics and text in '80s sci-fi computer screens was cool, then this game was built for you. And if you never did, this is your chance to find out what all the modem noise was about! A galaxy of sectors, ports, factions, and terrible decisions, played through a CRT filter that will make your eyes go blurry.
I hope I have included enough features and a complete gameplay experience that's relatively bug-free to keep you entertained and glued to the screen for hours so you can get in just one more trade. Thank you to all who played the demo and provided valuable feedback which helped drive ALOT of changes that made it into the EA release.
What's in the EA release and what's the roadmap after EA looking like?
There's just so many features and gameplay mechanics that it would take awhile to list them all, some super apparent, some not so much and can only be discovered by exploration or gameplay that will seem emergent. What's important is that the game can be played from start-to-finish with 2 of the 5 planned careers and can be played beyond in endless mode. The game is fully playable in English and Japanese.
So what's on the Roadmap for Post-Early Access leading upto 1.0??? Plenty!
Linux/Steam Deck support
Playbalancing Changes
French/German/Russian Localization
My novella "Dark Deal" in the codex, actually it started out as a fanfic I wrote for the Wing Commander Community back in 2015 when that was a thing, but took on a life of its' own.
More Varied Pirate Enemies and a Pirate Station... if you thought the Pirate King was tough...
More Deepscan Discoveries around the alien factions to add to their story/world-building (which is pretty threadbare at the moment)
Tutorials Part 3 & 4 to cover Embassy Treaties, Guild Management, Deployed Fighter Management, Advanced command input commands, Ship Upgrades, Missions, Captain and Fleet Management, Fleet Combat.
Citadels (Mobile Starbases that you construct with a one-way warp gate functionality... with an eye-watering upkeep cost.)
Full independent NPC trader captains with their own guilds that you can cooperate or compete with or eliminate to dominate the trade lanes
More Anomalies and reworked current anomalies with more depth to flesh out the Precursor narrative in the game
Guild Banking system (I know it just says Deposit Credits so it should have been easy to implement, but there's ALOT more to it than just that)
You can deposit your credits into a term deposit with a fixed low interest rate, or an investment account that is affected by galactic events or buy faction bonds which in turn give a slight multiplier bonus to that particular factions behaviourial script, which turn could cause them to become more aggressive against neighbouring factions because you're bankrolling them, which in turn causes the market to react, which in turn causes the targetted faction to lower standings with you which in turn... so you can see, I have to give this ALOT of thought.
Faction Planet interaction beyond just raids
More music tracks with the soundtrack available for purchase. Just in discussions with Nordic Space Viking on licensing, exclusivity, commercial use outside of the game (soundtrack) etc. as his work is amazing!
Federation Capital planet in Sector 1
Open Game Map Generation Settings
A Proper low-poly 3D artist to spruce up all Sector & Anomaly & Discovery graphics... you have no idea how long it took me to make the station/port/depot graphics on my own when I barely know how to manipulate default primitives in Blender. Hours. I should be ashamed, considering I probably have more fingers than there are polygons in those models.
More Playbalancing Changes
4000 sector galaxy as an additional Open Game Scenario (Yes, that means there will be other types of scenarios as well post 1.0 launch, either as a scenario pack DLCs or as a free update!)
UI/UX Polish
