changedNemesis #7 - State of Emergency Available Now! First things first: Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency highlights two defensive battlegroups tasked with protecting their state’s vital infrastructure, and imposing internal security and rule of law during WARNO’s World War III. Bringing their unique arsenal and hard-hitting infantry, Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency contains the French Zone de Défense - Paris and the Soviet DON-100 battlegroup.
addedNemesis #7 - State of Emergency lets you lead an arsenal of new units to battle, from GARDES RÉPUBLICAINS , BROUSSARD MH-1521 recon planes, GIGN operators, and the MSC prototype, to MVD security infantry, OMON troops, first-generation Mi-24A gunships, and advanced MiG-29S fighters.
fixedWhat’s Coming With Nemesis #7? The release of Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency also marks the first round of follow-up changes to all things artillery. With today’s launch, we have released a preliminary pass on artillery unit prices and addressed other areas of our game.
changedWith artillery now behaving differently (see more on that in Artillery Rework below), it is only fair that we review and update the unit costs throughout WARNO . The Strike Team has been diligently at work, providing even more feedback and updates. Keep in mind that this is a first pass, not a definitive final one; it should bring artillery unit costs in line with actual battlefield performance.
changedAll submachine guns and carbine infantry weapons now feature improved characteristics to better reflect their effective range and battlefield role.

Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency Available Now!

NATO’s French Zone de Défense - Paris protects the City of Light and its surrounding areas. Formed around a nucleus of reservists, the territorial formation relied on several regular infantry formations, military academy units, testbed vehicles, Gendarmerie military police, and Paris’ own Garde Républicaine to protect the French capital.

Read Zone de Défense - Paris’ full historical background in this dedicated DevBlog.

The Soviet DON-100 stands for 100-ya Motostrelkovaya Diviziya Operativnogo, or the 100th Motorized Division for Special Use, a Ministry of Internal Affairs formation. The battlegroup deployed to quell insurgent hotspots around the Caucasus and southern frontier of the Soviet Union, fanned by NATO intelligence agents and special forces in WARNO’s World War III.

Check out more of DON-100’s historical details in this in-depth DevBlog.

Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency lets you lead an arsenal of new units to battle, from GARDES RÉPUBLICAINS, BROUSSARD MH-1521 recon planes, GIGN operators, and the MSC prototype, to MVD security infantry, OMON troops, first-generation Mi-24A gunships, and advanced MiG-29S fighters.

What’s Coming With Nemesis #7? The release of Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency also marks the first round of follow-up changes to all things artillery. With today’s launch, we have released a preliminary pass on artillery unit prices and addressed other areas of our game.

With artillery now behaving differently (see more on that in Artillery Rework below), it is only fair that we review and update the unit costs throughout WARNO. The Strike Team has been diligently at work, providing even more feedback and updates. Keep in mind that this is a first pass, not a definitive final one; it should bring artillery unit costs in line with actual battlefield performance.

SMG and Carbines For a long time, SMGs and older carbines found themselves in a tough spot: why pick them at all, if assault rifles would be the overall better choice?

All submachine guns and carbine infantry weapons now feature improved characteristics to better reflect their effective range and battlefield role.

This means that SMGs are a cut above assault rifles at close ranges. Fighting in buildings or at short range will be noticeably different from now on. The same for carbines across medium ranges.

Medium Caliber AA Rework The new update will also bring a small adjustment to a completely different category of units: medium-caliber gun-based anti-air guns, specifically in the 40mm to 57mm range. Think Bofors.

In 1989, these systems formed the backbone of many air defenses, especially in reserve and territorial formations. They were often paired with radar direction systems, becoming a genuine threat to low-flying aircraft and helicopters. We want to reflect this better in WARNO.

The new update improves their effectiveness against aircraft through radar-assisted fire control, as well as radar proximity fuses and faster reload speeds.

This specific change was made possibly primarily through the hard work and collaborative effort of Strike Team member Hamsch and community member Nova. We salute you!

Artillery Rework Update WARNO’s Artillery Rework update has been live for some time now, with the first batch of updates coming alongside WARNO - LANDJUT. We have been watching, checking your feedback, monitoring the data (releasing a hotfix, as well), and taking notes.

If you want to get a primer on the why, what we wanted to achieve, and whether it is actually finished, be sure to check out this in-depth interview with Eugen’s very own SuperXavi who sat down with Protoss for a proper in-depth interview on all things related to the Artillery Rework.

What’s on WARNO’s radar? We can also lift the tip of the veil of what’s in store next for WARNO. We are actively working on two specific elements, which will be released in a future update.

Upgrading MLRS HE Performance We believe that MRLS HE artillery units are not performing as well as they should - especially considering their cost. This applies to all MRLS calibers. We intend to upgrade the performance of multiple rocket launchers, but this will take a little ‌longer to get right.

Small-Caliber Howitzers - The Situation Yes, we have all noticed the spam of small-caliber howitzers (from 105mm to 130mm). We are looking into ways to rein in these smaller artillery guns without discarding these nimble units completely. This is something we are looking at doing in a future update.

We intend to make massed deployment less attractive, but still give smaller caliber howitzers a valid and attractive choice in the right hands. We’ll keep you posted.

As mentioned by SuperXavi in the above interview, the artillery rework will continue to evolve. If and when needed, we’ll keep on making the necessary adjustments based on your feedback and our own observations.

Updated Armory UI And in a final note: we have also modified the Armory’s UI to accommodate the increase of nations and divisions. This update is much needed with the incoming WARNO - Tropic Storm and - later on - WARNO - Black Birds.

Until Next Time What are you waiting for? Get Nemesis #7 - State of Emergency and start playing! We can’t wait to hear back from you.
