Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition changes
Today’s hot fix aims to resolve some of the highest occurring crashes, progression blockers and multiplayer issues affecting players in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Definitive Edition.
We will be releasing another patch next week with additional high-priority fixes. The fixes coming in next week’s patch required a bit more time to test and validate, so we appreciate everyone’s patience as we work on them. Thank you to all our players that have been diligently reporting issues via our help portal – please continue to do so at https://help.relic.com/
General
Fixed an issue where players could not see Multiplayer game lobbies hosted by a player using a different audio language (English, German, French, and Russian)
Fixed an issue that prevented the game from loading the correct language using the GOG Galaxy launcher for those using Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Fixed a desync that led to a crash in Multiplayer games where players on Windows & Linux (SteamDeck / Proton) were playing together
Fixed two crashes that could occur during singleplayer or multiplayer when numerous enemy units were starting to move while the player is also moving the camera
Fixed two crashes that could occur when pre-rendered movies started for players using older operating systems.
Fixed a crash that could occur during loading screens or while saving the game
Gameplay
Fixed a fatal scar error in Winter Assault Disorder Mission 1 when Gorgutz was killed immediately before a cut-scene triggered
Fixed a scripting error that prevented Listening Posts from being buildable in Dawn of War Mission 1 when two strategic points were captured at the same time
Fixed an issue that could sometimes prevent objective locations from being correctly highlighted by arrow FX in Campaign missions
Updated Gridkeys controls to fix a keybind conflict on Orks, Space Marines, and Imperial Guard
High Priority Issues – Aiming to Resolve August 26th
The below issues are not fixed in today's patch. We aim to resolve these in next week's patch which should release on Tuesday, August 26th. We feel it is important to share these details so that players are aware of our goals for the coming week. Thanks again for your patience and continued reports as we work to improve the game.
Two possible crashes when custom badge transfer fails while loading into Multiplayer matches. The crash can lead to all other players having an infinite loading screen that will eventually crash
Rare error where new players are not able to create / load a profile name and receive errors when attempting to start missions / multiplayer
Rare crash that can occur on a loading screen when entering Campaign Missions
Rare crash at the end of Multiplayer matches when the Results screen is shown
Additional error logging for players who cannot start or consistently time out when trying to connect to Multiplayer – this will provide us with more data as we work to resolve this issue
Dialogue occasionally does not trigger in the correct sequence during campaign missions – some lines can be skipped
Large units – such a Dreadnoughts - can get stuck when navigating near other large units beside cliffs
Infantry units can become stunned for too long of a period when pathfinding near vehicles
Infantry with a charge attack can get stuck pathfinding when attempting to charge on an elevated position
Cursor lock functionality does not stay locked when the game loses focus (using Windows key, Alt+Tab, getting Steam/GOG notifications)
Camera movement keys cannot be remapped by modders
Keybinds are not easily accessible for modders without having to unpack an archive
Update loading order to allow mods to overwrite unit portraits
Rare crash in the Mission Editor when attempting to save changes to a map
Mods that package multiple mods fail to load if a secondary mod is marked as having a dependency that is not included
