Your Investigation Begins – The Beta Is Now Open

Let it be known across the Imperium: Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy beta testing is now live. The alpha trial has ended. Now, the beta awaits the bold and valiant to uncover its secrets. Answer the call of the Inquisition and delve deeper into the world of twisted heresy, imminent danger, and shadowy investigations.

What awaits you remains uncertain. Yet all reports converge on one conclusion: uncharted places, new companions, a deep and gripping story, challenging combat encounters — and far more lies hidden in the darkness of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy beta.

How to Join the Beta Testing

The beta testing is available for all founders who supported us and pre-ordered Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy on our website. The testing will be open until the game's release, so if you haven't joined yet, you may still enlist! Please note that the beta testing takes place on Steam.

If you participated in the alpha testing that began in December 2025, then you do not need to redeem an additional key from our website – just download the Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Playtest project update.

If you did not join the previous alpha testing but supported us and pre-ordered the game on our website, then now is the time to enter the beta of Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy! Here are the instructions on how to activate the beta project on your Steam account:

1. Open your profile page on the Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy website. Proceed to the “Digital Download” section. There, you can obtain your beta key.

   

2. Log in to your Steam client. Select "Games" —> "Activate a Product on Steam" in the main section at the top of the screen.

   

3. Enter your beta key in the window that appears on the screen.

   

4. After the product code is entered in the field, click "Confirm". The beta project will appear in your Steam library and will be ready to download. The beta version of the game is located in a separate project, not on the main game page.

Please note that the beta version is available in English only. While we made every effort to include additional localisations, we were unable to complete them in time and have decided to prioritise the development of the full release version and focus our efforts on other key aspects of the beta.

The beta features partial voice-over, with full voice acting planned for the release version. Please note that all content from the alpha is voiced, while newly added beta content currently includes only partial voice-over.

To experience fully voiced content, we recommend starting in the Marisportum Sectoris, where the alpha events take place. If you’d prefer to start with the partially voiced new beta content, head to the Lucid Palace. Location selection is available upon departure from Serpentis Bastion, approximately one hour after the game begins.
