WARAG - What's New
Brutality and Blood
Full enemy gib system: a corpse bursts into 10 chunks of meat plus a cloud, 9 blood jets, 14 droplets and a pool beneath — no fire, pure gore.
Blood droplets arc through the air and settle into small puddles on the floor.
On-screen blood: a nearby gib splatters the screen — drops run down (accelerating, weaving, stretching, fading over ~3s).
Unified gib for everyone — even the boss croc (sybercroc) now only gibs, with no regular death animation.
Gib chance: 70% with normal weapons, 100% on alt-fire.
Corpse finishing: pump 30 damage into a downed corpse and it bursts.
Meaty gib sounds (wet splat plus a bass-heavy chunk-fall).
Doom-style HP face: 5 expressions by health level, plus a pain face on damage, a berserk face, and a frozen grimace on death.
Upgrades and Progression
Level-up system with a pick-an-upgrade screen, evolution sets (two abilities at 3 stacks each unlock a combo), and an XP combo multiplier for kill streaks (up to x3).
Cold of Veles — a slow aura plus shadow-enemy summons on every level.
Wrath of Veles (killed enemies explode and hurt their neighbors) — now carries a debuff: max HP drops to 65.
Whirlwind / Rapid Fire — reworked: was a one-time x2 fire rate, now +25% per pick and stacks up to 4.
Magnet — pulls loot, but no longer grabs keys and won't stick to health packs when HP is full (it respects the 65 debuff and any boosts).
Plus lifesteal, regen, crit, dodge, Perun's Thorns, adrenaline, Stribog's Wings, Heavy Stomp, Bloodthirst, Gold Fever, alt-fire unlocks for every gun, and the paired blaster.
25 upgrades are available right now — and this is only the beginning.
Weapons
Blaster damage +30%.
Mace deals damage only at the end of the swing, with its own hit and wall-hit sounds.
Paired blaster as a starting weapon on hard/nightmare.
Base jump height +7%.
Lava and plasma now hurt monsters too, and enemies path around the hazard (the croc barges straight through).
Balance
Player damage +10% (blaster +15%, paired blaster +10%), incoming damage -30%, and higher difficulty means more enemies rather than just tankier ones.
Interface and Crosshair
Stock crosshair is a dot, with a crosshair-size slider in the menu.
Always-run and crosshair are always on.
Side skill panel raised so it no longer covers HP/armor.
Custom options menu without engine render clutter.
"Recommended" tag on the 4th difficulty.
Atmosphere
Custom retro VHS/CRT post-process (scanlines, glow, grain, curvature) with in-menu settings.
Underwater camera distortion.
Localization
14 languages for the interface and the upgrade cards.
