changedWe hope you have been enjoying the Hacker role and the rest of the features included in the Savescum update. Our inbox is overflowing with suggestions from the community as to how we can improve the game even further, which may sound annoying, but having a playerbase so invested in our game feels fantastic.
addedThere's still plenty of stuff brewing for Walk of Life, and we think it's only fair that you guys get to take a little peek at what we've got in store. Lo and behold, our new (post-launch) roadmap!
addedNew Game ModesWe will be releasing new game modes for Walk of Life, including ones that support faster games and co-op play.
addedNew RolesThe Hacker won out against the Artist in a recent community vote, but the latter will be making it into the game soon. In addition to the Hacker and the Artist, we have at least two more roles we want to add to the roster. You can expect another community vote to decide which one gets released first.
addedNew PetsThe reworked pet system has added a ton of new strategies to our game, and we want to add a few more. Some will have already-existing traits, while others will have brand-new ones. Here's a teaser for you! Steam post image
changedNew Choice Events and SettingsWe are going to introduce a ton more choice events into the game, but we are also aware that some players do not like the randomness they introduce. Game setup will let players control whether choice events appear in their games, and whether outcomes are shown beforehand — for those who prefer strategy over surprises.

Howdy!

We hope you have been enjoying the Hacker role and the rest of the features included in the Savescum update. Our inbox is overflowing with suggestions from the community as to how we can improve the game even further, which may sound annoying, but having a playerbase so invested in our game feels fantastic.

There's still plenty of stuff brewing for Walk of Life, and we think it's only fair that you guys get to take a little peek at what we've got in store. Lo and behold, our new (post-launch) roadmap!

Wow, what a packed agenda! Let's break it down!

Saved Games (Done!)

This was the most frequently asked for feature we've had for Walk of Life, and we were super happy to finally introduce a proper save/load system with the Savescum update.

Mod Support (for real this time)

We really wanted to introduce mod support before we hit 1.0, but after running into complications we unfortunately had to shelve the idea temporarily. Mod support will make it into the game eventually, and we are both excited and terrified to see what our community will do to our little game when it does!

New Game Modes

Walk of Life has attracted a lot of different people who want different things from the game, and we are exploring modes to cater to folks who prefer different strokes.

While some of our players relish competition, crushing their friends, and getting obscenely high scores, others have asked for a more chill way to play the game and even work with their friends. We have also gotten a ton of requests for a faster game mode, especially from those who like playing in larger lobbies.

We will be releasing new game modes for Walk of Life, including ones that support faster games and co-op play.

New Roles

The Hacker won out against the Artist in a recent community vote, but the latter will be making it into the game soon. In addition to the Hacker and the Artist, we have at least two more roles we want to add to the roster. You can expect another community vote to decide which one gets released first.

New Pets

The reworked pet system has added a ton of new strategies to our game, and we want to add a few more. Some will have already-existing traits, while others will have brand-new ones. Here's a teaser for you! Steam post image

New Choice Events and Settings

We are going to introduce a ton more choice events into the game, but we are also aware that some players do not like the randomness they introduce. Game setup will let players control whether choice events appear in their games, and whether outcomes are shown beforehand — for those who prefer strategy over surprises.

New Global Events

Expect more global events to introduce further chaos into your games. The Heat Wave global event will also be getting a rework as it's currently very dry (hah).

New Avatars

More customization! We have so many ideas we have for new avatars that range from mundane to ridiculous. Expect some of them to make it into the game!

New Map

Save the date and pack your bags, we're going travelling again!

And that about wraps up our agenda!

Is there anything that you feel is missing from the roadmap? Also, keep in mind that Steam reviews help us work faster, so please drop us one if you haven't already!

It's back to work for us. Stay tuned!
