Let me set the scene: I’m sent home from university because of the stupid virus thing and sitting at my computer. I’m thumbing through all my assignments as I think to myself, “What to do… what to do...” A moment of clarity strikes: “Make an update to VR Party Pack OF COURSE!” And that’s just what I did. Enjoy. OVERALL

  • Slight graphics improvements

  • Non-HTC Vive users were having trouble getting back to the main menu, so I added a button input on the controller to help with that

  • Re-wrote the backend framework to add rapid scalability for mini-games and bug fix fixes

FIXED

Basketball

  • Added a little AI aim assist to help you make totally radical free throws

Beer Pong

  • Fixed bug that caused the counter to go up forever

Bowling

  • Bug caused ball to bounce if the rotational linear force of the ball was greater than the directional velocity of the ball towards the pins

Box Artist

  • Bug caused camera to not detach from player’s HMD

  • Players can no longer escape the recording area

Dartsmith

  • Darts didn’t stick if angle of friction between dart and board was greater than 35 degrees. So I added a semi-angle of the point of the grooving tool (dart) so that the board accepts darts that are fired at an angle

Home Run Derby

  • Changed player’s hands to baseball bats -- much better

  • Made ocean prettier

Party Ninja

  • Added a stronger “normal force” (‘horizontal’ force parallel to cutting blade) when slicing objects to make it more obvious when an object has been successful sliced

Ping Pong

  • Added the ability to switch hands without switching controllers in real life

I know what you’re thinking, “Alright that’s great and all… but what do I have to look forward to?” Well… do I have an answer for you!

  • Currently talking with a music studio about making an OST for VR Party Pack!

  • Looking in to adding some voice acting in some minigames

  • SO MANY MORE MINIGAMES! And of course polishing the already published ones!

As always, if you have any questions, concerns, comments or SUGGESTIONS please feel free to reach out. Let me know what you want to see next!
