The latest update has been released: Release v1.4.0b - Jewel Worlds
This update introduces the Prosperine Jewel Worlds sector, a minimally charted region of lush emerald and sapphire worlds scattered with the remnants of civilizations untouched by Imperial dominion. Beneath their jungles, oceans, and glittering horizons lie alien ruins, ancient crypts, and buried powers best approached with caution.
This update adds 15 new encounters, including the new Planetary Assault - Ancient Ruins encounter type. Your crew can now descend into long-forgotten sites such as the Shrouded Temple and the Antediluvian Crypt, facing the dangers left behind by civilizations far older and stranger than the Empire.
Jewel Worlds also introduces new enemy forces, including the Vanguard Interceptor enemy type and new enemy crew such as Meta-guards and Specialists. Commanders can discover 10 new pieces of crew equipment: the Vyper Skinsuit, Seraph Exosuit, Fulgurant Armor, Neuro-Sabre, Null Pistol, Tachyon Cannon, Havok Rifle, Photon Tunneler, Neutrino Engine, and Luxon Mantle. A new armament, the Consecrated Devastator Beam, has also been added as a special reward.
Beyond the new sector content, v1.4.0b includes a large gameplay and balance pass. Mixed enemy crews now appear more frequently, the Voltaic Cruiser has been improved with stronger crew and a Launch Bay, and rewards have been adjusted for several major encounters including the Voltaic Cruiser, Imperial Battle Ark, Core Miner, and Giant Necrophage.
Several systems, upgrades, and modules have also been rebalanced or reworked, including the Redeemer, Servo-Excavator, Aetheric Gate, Heavy Translocator, Seeker Missiles, Vile Sepulchre, Terminus Bands, Ancient Psytronome, Sigil of Rot, Corpse Effigy, Spectral Drives, and more. Additional bonuses have been added to equipment such as the Hellfire Cuirass, Meditech Boosters, Adaptive Nanoplate, Guardian Protocols, Synaptic Enforcers, Pathogenic Recycler Unit, Pain Engine, and Hardened Casings.
The update also fixes quest marker issues, planetary assault sled recall issues, deployment tray visuals, ship menu visuals, encounter text, and multiple typos. The older Planetary Assault - Ruins node has been renamed to Planetary Assault - Derelict Site to better distinguish it from the new Ancient Ruins encounter type.
