Void Cargo: Equilibrium changes
Map loading is now significantly faster thanks to major terrain and shadow-generation optimizations. The update also reworks the demo's map, adds fuel caches, route fuel estimates, and Retro Assist, and improves flight feedback throughout the game. The audio pass includes a redesigned main thruster and new cargo, navigation, booster, pickup, success, and failure sounds, while updated color grading, antialiasing, HUD cues, collision handling, and runtime optimizations make the demo look, sound, and run better overall.
Important: this update requires a fresh start. Save files from the previous demo version are no longer compatible.
Reworked map
The demo map has been rebuilt with refreshed terrain, shadows, hazards, delivery connections, and base details. Bases now have more distinctive names, while revised routes create more interesting journeys across the highlands.
Build Your Own Fuel Network
Fuel Cache Kits can now be purchased and transported as heavy cargo. Land in suitable open terrain to deploy a persistent refueling point.
Deploy up to three caches.
Each cache contains a finite supply of free fuel.
Route and Fuel Planning
The map now displays route distance, map scale, and an approximate fuel requirement.
Hover over a contract to preview its expected fuel cost before accepting it, with warnings for tight margins, insufficient fuel, or excessive takeoff mass.
Retro Assist
Hold B on the keyboard or B on a gamepad to fire your lateral thrusters against horizontal movement. This makes it easier to slow down and change course during long flights.
Retro Assist consumes fuel just like normal maneuvering would.
Improved Flight Awareness
The altitude tape now marks the high-altitude hazard boundary.
New HIGH ALTITUDE and FUEL CRITICAL warnings provide earlier notice of danger.
Wind changes are easier to recognize through improved HUD animation.
Emergency alerts and terminal messages now identify the cause of system damage and the affected systems
Visual and Audio Polish
New environment color grading and vignette effects.
Removed bloom and improved antialiasing.
Redesigned main-thruster audio.
Updated cargo, navigation, booster, pickup, success, and failure sounds.
Improved performance around terrain, geysers, HUD updates, and collision checks.
Fixed damaged thrusters sometimes continuing to produce thrust.
Improved crashes involving drills and deployed fuel caches.
Thank you for playing the Void Cargo: Equilibrium demo. Safe flying.
