Vending Dokan!: Kozy Kiosk changes
Hey everyone!
We’re back with another update and this one is all about foundations. Today’s patch introduces two major systems that will shape the future of Vending Dokan: new machine types and companion machines!
These might sound simple at first, but they open the door to entirely new gameplay styles, new product categories, and tons of fun machines we can build on later. Let’s dive in!
New Machine Type: Hot Drinks Machines
We’re excited to finally roll out the Machine Type System, starting with your very first new type: Hot Drinks!
Up until now, every machine you've placed has been considered a Dry Machine, meaning they accept any item that doesn’t require heating or cooling. With this update, the ecosystem expands.
Introducing the Naka Refresh × MoonSip Hot Drinks Machine.
New Items (Available at Milestone 16)
This machine launches with four brand-new hot drink items:
Hot Oolong Tea
Hot Ginger Tea
Hot Raspberry Tea
Hot Chai
These drinks offer higher profit margins, and customers will now perform unique animations as they order, wait for, and receive their warm drink. Just like other machines, you can:
Stock them
Repair them
Customise them
Decorate around them
You’ll also notice clearer indicators in the Shop and Build Mode showing which items require which machine types, making it easier to plan your layouts.
This is only the beginning of the machine type system, and we already have more unique machines in development: including the Umbrella Machine coming very soon!
Introducing Companion Machines
Alongside new machine types, this update also introduces an entirely new category of devices: Companion Machines.
These are machines that don’t require stock, but instead provide small amenities that enhance customer satisfaction, keep them around longer, and generate a little income while they do it.
We’re rolling out this system with our first companion machine:
Ice Machine
Perfect for anyone grabbing a canned, bottled, or pouched drink! After buying a beverage, customers might walk over to the ice machine to complete their experience.
Generates flat passive profit
Requires maintenance, like any other machine
Fully customisable
Comes with new customer animations: grabbing a cup, filling it with ice, and pouring their drink into it
This opens the door to a whole range of future companion machines: from hot water dispensers for instant noodles to condiment stations and even charging points for portable devices.
Recycle Machine
We’re expanding the companion machine lineup right away with one more addition: the Recycle Machine!
This one helps you manage waste more effectively:
Unlike standard bins, it never needs emptying
Generates a small passive profit every time it’s used
Still requires maintenance
Fully customisable like all machines
We’ve also tweaked how often customers litter or dirty your machines. Thanks to your feedback, the early game should now feel less overwhelming and a lot more manageable.
Workshop QOL: New Sorting Options
Our community has been creating some absolutely amazing custom machine designs, and we want those designs to shine!
The Workshop Skins menu now includes:
Trending (Last 30 Days)
Most Popular (our old sorting)
Recent
This update makes it easier to discover new creators, surface hidden gems, and browse however you prefer.
What’s Next?
The holiday season is right around the corner, and we’re already preparing another themed update filled with Seasonal decorations, New items & Cozy holiday vibes!
We’re also continuing to address key pain points, including a much-requested improvement that will let you inspect machines even when a customer is using them. We hoped to include it here, but it needs more work to make it feel smooth and intuitive. Expect it very soon!
As always, thank you so much for playing Vending Dokan, sharing feedback, posting your custom designs, and being part of this cozy community. These foundation systems are a big step for the game, and we can’t wait to build on them with more creative machines, items, and features.
If you're enjoying the game, you can help us out by leaving a Steam review! It seriously helps us reach more people and continue to grow.
See you in the next update! 💛✨
