  • Balance
  • UI and audio
  • Gameplay
changedWhat's in the Demo? The economy layer where every bet either snowballs the run or ends it
changedTips for First-Time PlayersUse the in-game feedback button. This demo exists to be tested. Every report — bugs, balance issues, weird interactions — shapes what ships on June 26.
changedA Note on This DemoThis is an early demo, not a polished vertical slice. There are rough edges, balance still in tuning, and Jokers being refined. What's here is the heart of the game; the polish comes between now and Early Access. The demo is out now because the only way to make the bluff system feel right is to put it in front of real players.
addedA Note on This DemoIf the demo clicks, adding VELATO to your wishlist is the single biggest way to support the game — wishlists are the strongest signal Steam uses to gauge audience interest before launch.

VELATO

What VELATO Is?

VELATO is a Bluff Roguelike Deckbuilder with a twist: you're not just building a deck and chasing big numbers. You're sitting across the table from an AI that watches how you bet, remembers when you've bluffed, and decides whether to call you out. Every hand becomes two games at once — the poker hand built on the table, and the mind game played to sell it.

What's in the Demo?

The demo offers a focused slice of the full loop in under 30 minutes:

  • Three opening tables to learn the rhythm of building a Joker engine

  • The bluff mechanic — declare your hand honestly, or lie and watch the AI react

  • A handful of Jokers that hint at the variety in the full game

  • The economy layer where every bet either snowballs the run or ends it

It's a small piece, but it's the piece that shows what VELATO is really about.

Tips for First-Time Players

  • Don't play it safe on the first run. The fun of VELATO is in pushing your luck. Bluff early just to see what the AI does. The demo is for finding your style, not for winning.

  • Watch the AI between hands. It's not random. Big bets that go unpunished often invite a call soon after. Quiet play creates opportunities for a bigger bluff.

  • Joker combos matter more than individual Jokers. A weak Joker in the right pair often beats a strong Joker alone.

  • Use the in-game feedback button. This demo exists to be tested. Every report — bugs, balance issues, weird interactions — shapes what ships on June 26.

A Note on This Demo

This is an early demo, not a polished vertical slice. There are rough edges, balance still in tuning, and Jokers being refined. What's here is the heart of the game; the polish comes between now and Early Access. The demo is out now because the only way to make the bluff system feel right is to put it in front of real players.

If the demo clicks, adding VELATO to your wishlist is the single biggest way to support the game — wishlists are the strongest signal Steam uses to gauge audience interest before launch.

What's Next?

  • June 15–22 — VELATO joins Steam Next Fest

  • June 26 — Early Access launches with a significantly expanded version of what's in the demo

  • Post-launch — Investment system, collectible rare Jokers, and multiplayer for 2–4 players, where the bluff mechanic finally meets human opponents

Thanks for reading, and thanks for being curious. The bluff goes through — or it doesn't. Only one way to find out.

🃏 See you at the table.
