Greetings URB@NERS!

We've made a new updated demo build with lots of upgrades and new content! After following player feedback, Demo 2.0 was made to represent the game as we intend it to be on release. It's never been a better time to play URBANO!

If you had the previous demo installed, and you face any issues, try removing it from your library and adding it again.

Without further ado, here are the changes:

Combat changes:

  • Difficulty levels! You're able to choose between Loose, Fitting and Tight, changing the amount and difficulty of projectiles and boss attacks!

  • New projectile type: Move Projectiles. When you see a sparking projectile, press forward to advance. It's no longer possible to advance without move projectiles or the Pegasus Loop. This was done to add rhythm when the player moves forward. Move projectiles can also be aerial or low, turning air dashes -and slides possible.

  • Pushback barThis new bar below the player's health during the projectile phase will prevent the player from being pushed back when hit, consuming one square. It regenerates over time.
  • Perfects and Nices: A popup now displays if the player did the action at the right time (Perfects) or was a little off (Nice). Getting "Perfects" improves Energy regeneration, and deals critical hits on melee.

  • Enemies display a "Cornered" effect when they can't backstep anymore.

  • The melee phase now starts while being 4 tiles away when the enemy is cornered, avoiding a situation where the reaction time would be too short in closer tiles.

  • Critical hit chance was removed, and all Perfect hits are now critical hits.

  • Bosses can start a second phase after their HP reaches zero.

  • Boss intros are a thing now.

  • Boss can raise barriers when cornered. The barrier can be broken by deflecting move projectiles towards it.

  • When a Loop Skill is ready to be used, the loop name and glyph shows up besides the health bar.

  • Melee prompts display the corresponding button glyph.

  • Bosses are able to combo moves.

  • Mashing attack prompts now have a red colored glyph.

  • Updated tutorial.

  • Combat tutorial can be skipped.

  • New boss animations when hit during the finishing phase.

  • Some stages have checkpoints, at which the player can't be pushed back from there.

  • Added voice clips when Vailo gets hit and when he enters the "Finale" state.

Hangout changes:

  • You can now see the Friendship Level and points in the hangout prompt screen.

  • Topic names are always displayed, not needing to hold space anymore.

  • New animated icons for the topics.

  • There's a chance for a Special Action icon to show up in the place of an incorrect topic. Whether it'll provide points or not will depend on the context.

  • Result screen now displays the Friendship Level as stars.

  • The Level Up scene plays right after the level up, instead of having to interact with the character another time.

  • 2 new level up scenes for Lofi.

  • 1 new level up scene for Honor.

  • Updated tutorial.

  • Queen Nightcore shows up in the street in her casual outfit.

  • Fashionites obtained when leveling up the friendship. Can be used after day 5.

Dancing changes:

  • New level select screen.

  • Difficulty Levels from 1 to 3 stars. They all provide the same reward, so choose the one that's the most fun to you and try to experiment with different difficulties!

  • You gotta pay taxes now.

  • New Queen Nightcore visual novel sprite.

  • Queen Nightcore voice clips.

  • New transition after selecting the level.

  • By default, the dance UI is now horizontal. It can be changed back to vertical in the Settings menu.,

  • 1-button/moveYou can now assign a button for each dance move, instead of combining different buttons. It comes enabled by default when using a controller. Can be changed in the keybind menu.
  • Updated result screen.

  • Each level has a brand-new cutscene that plays afterwards.

  • 2 new dance moves!

Story changes:

  • The following characters had their sprites reworked: Vailo, Honor, Lofi and James.

  • Voice clips!

  • Speech bubbles now display the character names. Can be disabled in the Settings.

  • New Twist of Fate screen when the story branches.

  • New sequence in the beginning of the final scene.

  • Small dialogue changes here and there. Nothing too crazy.

  • Mike will be included. But he's not included yet. Someday.

Kittie's Kit changes:

  • Loops now have a Ranged and a Melee effect. Some have the same effect in both situations:

    • Cross Loop: Heals a percentage of the maximum health.

    • Quiver Loop: No changes, still launches a projectile toward the boss.

    • Finger Loop: Ranged, reduces received damage for a while. Melee, increases caused damage for a while.

    • Pegasus Loop: Ranged, advances one tile. Melee, attacks the boss without missing.

    • Anchor Loop: Raises a barrier that blocks a certain amount of attacks.

  • Lofi voice clips were added.

OSK changes:

  • Eating no longer skips time.

  • Dishes now provide different effects, reflecting the new combat mechanics:

    • Just FriesIncreases Perfect Damage. Previously increased attack speed.
    • Soul Cake(Renamed to Slice of Life)Increases Pushback Bar regeneration rate. Previously increased Critical Chance.
    • LacrimosaIncreases Pushback Bar size. Previously increased Movement Speed.
    • Vegan SteakIncreases Perfect Tolerance Window. Previously increased Critical Damage.
    • Voidible Pudding: Increases Skill Bar regeneration rate. No changes.

  • Max upgrade for each dish is now 3 instead of 5 (both not achievable in the demo).

  • The planned feature of inviting a character to eat has been replaced by random scenes with characters after ordering a dish. We did this to avoid players from holding onto resources to use them when characters are available, since we want players to upgrade their combat stats whenever possible. 4 of these scenes were already included in the demo.

  • New preparation cutscene

General changes:

  • New Side-Quest system (Legendark), accessible from the Phone Menu, including the Backrooms quest.

  • Karma Street has been expanded.

  • Autosave slot, that saves after time passes.

  • As promised in the Kickstarter campaignNew Social Media feed in the Contacts menu, which will periodically display posts from the characters. New posts may also be added depending on what you decide to do on Free Time.
  • Contacts menu now displays the friendship level and points with the character.

  • 10 Manual Save slots.

  • Quit was moved to the Settings menu, along with Audio Settings and Keybind.

  • Audio Delay calibration menu in Audio Settings.

  • Voice Volume was added to the Audio Settings.

  • There's a Tax Evasion option in the settings, but please ignore that for now.

  • New option to Uniformize Fonts in case people have trouble reading the different fonts for each character.

  • Spanish (Spain) and Spanish (Latin Americas) Localization
