UNYIELDER changes
The Gauntlet awaits. This update brings UNYIELDER's biggest changes yet: a completely reworked Campaign Mode featuring a curated boss rush experience, a new competitive Leaderboard system to track your fastest runs, two new major bosses (Iguana and Crucible), and fresh weapons to master. Whether you're chasing leaderboard records or experiencing the refined progression system, there's plenty of new content to dive into. Full patch notes below!
Content update
Campaign Mode Rework
Campaign Mode has been reworked, where the campaign is now a true Boss Rush experience featuring the Pretender. As the Pretender, players must now fight through each boss in the many factions of Erebus, in a curated sequence, and only once per boss!
Suits, Perks and Weapon Drops remain random!
Regardless of the boss that is being fought, the Perk Drop type will be randomized for each possible selection on each Stage Select screen
Legendary Boss Crafting is now optional for Campaign Mode, where it will spawn the V1 for Megalith, Rali, and Mari, while the Tyrant will be completely randomly generated if no Data Drives are added
Skinner and Boz are still optional, but you can only fight them once per run
With this change, the older Campaign Mode has been moved to Legacy Campaign instead, where you can play the older version of UNYIELDER’s campaign once you have tried playing Campaign Mode at least once!
Existing players will instead have it unlocked on any existing save files!
Note: Provenance will now always start with two loot boxes in Campaign Mode and Gauntlet Mode
Gauntlet Mode
Gauntlet Mode is essentially the same gameplay experience as Campaign Mode, without the story cutscenes and dialogue, and you can play as Rali, Rain, or Skinner as well!
Leaderboard
Together with the curated boss rush experience comes a Leaderboard! The leaderboard will now store your best performances for Gauntlet as well as Endless Mode!
Try to complete the Gauntlet within the shortest time possible!
This will showcase and save the top 10 results for each type across all save files
You can find the leaderboard next to the teleporter within the House of Cards! (next to where you’d normally start a new run)
Note: Your score will not show up for other users if your and your game’s privacy settings are set to private.
New Bosses
Iguana
New Major boss for Tennuli
Crucible
New Major boss for Imperium
New Weapons
Order
A hammer that has a variety of randomized effects! Try it for yourself!
Umbra
Antumbra’s Shield! Now you can charge at enemies and also fire rockets while you’re at it, just like Antumbra!
General Changes
General
Game modes now start locked and unlocked through progression, with previous unlocks kept for existing players
Legacy Campaign, Campaign and Endless will now be unlocked upon entering campaign mode for the first time
Legacy Campaign and Endless will remain unlocked for users that have already unlocked them prior to this update on an existing save file
- NoteIn the case where players have an existing mid-run Legacy Campaign Mode save prior to this update, they may need to start a new run after the existing run ends in order to unlock Gauntlet and Endless Mode.
General requirement changes for unlocking characters
Thumper now unlocks upon defeating Megalith in any game mode
The following will still require Gauntlet / Endless Mode to be unlocked:
Rain will now unlock upon defeating Rain in any game mode
Skinner will now unlock upon defeating Skinner in any game mode
Rali will now unlock upon defeating Rali in any game mode
Skinner and Boz will now no longer drop Perks
When fighting Rain, Storm, Kite, Skinner or Boz, the faction icon shown on the Boss HP Bar will now be their respective icons
Subsequent codex categories are now unlocked when you beat the corresponding boss (i.e. Megalith V1/2/3 will unlock Imperium entries) on any game mode. However, they will still need to be unlocked in sequence
There is now an indicator on NPCs when there is a dialogue available for viewing
If a fight is available with an NPC (Boz, Skinner), a different indicator will be displayed
Updated boss HP bar to use proper faction icons for special bosses
Codex categories now unlock from defeating their bosses in any mode and no longer reset after campaign completion
New Boss Beacon that shows up when a reinforcement (during Skirmishes) is on the way! You can now go up to this anchor and interact with it in order to skip the wait!
General asset optimization pass
General weapon and boss balancing pass
Boss changes are targeted at making them feel like they’re increasing in difficulty during Campaign mode
