Since releasing the initial demo and gathering some fantastic feedback from all of our playtesters, a huge amount has changed behind the scenes.

Here is a breakdown of what I've been working on

Smoother Navigation: The boat is officially no longer a janky mess to control! Getting around the water feels significantly better and much more responsive now.

Story: I brought on an incredible associate game designer who has helped flesh out the world and develop the overarching narrative. Crafting a deep story is something I often struggle with as a solo developer, so having a second creative mind on board has been a total game-changer. And yes, he also absolutely hated the old boat controls.

Significant Lake Rework: The core lake area has received a massive overhaul and has been completely reworked to make sneaking into the lake and exploring the environment feel much more atmospheric and immersive.

An Expanded World: The investigation is growing. The experience is now spread across multiple distinct maps, giving you much more ground to cover as you dive deeper into the cult mystery.

Quality of Life Improvements: I've added dedicated hotkeys for your essential gear. You can now press M for your map and R for the radio to keep the gameplay flowing smoothly.

Upgraded Visuals: Expect some major visual upgrades across the board. I've tweaked the post-processing effects to really lean into that immersive VHS-lite aesthetic, alongside a much cleaner GUI.

Overall, progress has been slow but incredibly steady. The direction of the project has improved tremendously since that initial release. In fact, the changes are so significant that I am planning to completely remake the demo to properly showcase all these updates.

Thank you all for playing and sharing your thoughts!
