Unrailed 2: Back on Track changes
Dear Railroad Engineers
We just dropped a new update packed with bug fixes and improvements based on your feedback over the last few months!
This update is also part of preparing the game for the full release next month in June.
At a glance, the update adds:
Bot improvements
Emoji remapping
Ukrainian, Czech, Italian and Turkish language
UI fixes, improved rendering and stability
Update to Godot to 4.6.2

Crash fix: Game crashed when disconnecting a controller in the cartridge menu
- Bug fixOld savegames are now migrated to the new version
Bug fix: Engine foundry, Fashion express, Cartridge and Settings menu could not be closed when the controller disconnects
Bug fix: When having 0 hexnuts, the 0 wasn’t being rendered
Bug fix: Achievements take some seconds to load (when directly opening the Handbook, it seemed like one had no achievements)

Bot
Improvement: Bot follows the train in error cases
Improvement: Bot drops all items (and also tracks) immediately when double pressing the next command
Improvement: When a player is in the way in a bottleneck, the bot tries to walk around if possible after a short timeout
Improvement: The bot walks now to the closest (possibly box) wagon which feeds its actual target or its actual target it wants to serve
Improvement: Bot can now handle the “hold tools for max x seconds” task
Improvement: The bot is now aware of “only one player is allowed to xyz” tasks when in update-wagons and mining mode.
Improvement: Bot is now aware of the "don't dash into other players task”
Improvement: Bot is not stealing from other wagons anymore when being asked to take care of a specific wagon
Bug fix: Bot could get stuck on free standing wagons in shop
Bug fix: Bot sometimes killed ducks in mining mode instead of trees or rocks
Bug fix: Bot couldn’t find wood on the map for bridging when carrying something else
Bug fix: Bot sometimes avoided walking onto the waiting areas
Bug fix: When there are more than 6 tracks on the train or around the track ending, the bot isn’t allowed to pick from the main consumers anymore or any box wagon they pull from (magnet, piggy, miner, collector, supercharger, crafter, brake-track-crafter)
Bug fix: The bot picked from the piggy even for low priority tasks
Bug fix: Bot didn’t show an error message when it could not find water
Bug fix: Bot sometimes didn’t consider going further away when the player zoomed in on itself. The bot now considers the same area as when zooming out
Bug fix: Bot was trying to walk through rocks in ebbed islands to get water
Bug fix: Bot sometimes tried to grab (with grappling hook) stuff from the other side in versus (and was thus standing at the border)
Bug fix: Bot was sometimes stealing from other wagons for the crafter even though there were enough tracks already
Bug fix: On controllers, R2 either opened the bot emoji drawer or the normal emoji drawer depending on whether you just switched with the bot or not. Now it's always the bot drawer.
Gameplay
New: The game is keeping track of the max Player count which will now be registered for the highscore-server (https://u2.unrailed-online.com/)
New: Classic mode is now spawning keys for the Credits similar to the tokens in U1
Change: Random biome ordering in sandbox now resamples all biomes again after having seen all biomes (before you had to end a run)
Bug fix: Deers could drop compressed items on other items (and tools)
Bug fix: Camera transition fixes (especially in versus)
Bug fix: When having the "no placing with tracks constraint" on, it was possible to swap with extensions
Bug fix: Versus jetpack bounds are now symmetric
Bug fix: Speed increase when one team connected continues when the game is paused when not all players are connected
Bug fix: Versus tools do not respawn if they somehow got to the wrong side - Bug fix: Bolts sometimes spawned in a non reachable place
Bug fix: Constraining place to non-track commodities option sometimes dropped the tracks when placing
Stability
Crash fix: Crash when changing savegames in the lobby
Crash fix: Crash when joining a lobby or game
Bug fix (maybe): When joining a lobby and ending up in an invalid state (somehow connected but not seeing other players) and then leaving the lobby again, the original lobby should not get destroyed
Bug fix: Game could sometimes not start due to “no internet connection” or player can’t be controlled in the main menu
UI
New: Emoji remap menu

Bug fix: Red stopwatch wasn’t displayed when the time was over in time mode
Bug fix: Flag-Paths are now visible behind mountains again

Graphics / Performance
- ImprovementUpgrade to Godot 4.6.2. Possibly reduction of the crashes especially on D3D12 and more driver issues fixed
Improvement: Quicker re-connect on longer runs
