Game Updated - Release-Ready Version

After a few months of polish and additional features, the game is ready for release! Here are a list of updates that have been deployed to the beta and the demo since the previous update news post. v0.3.

addedSettings - VSync ImprovementsAdded ability to set VSync to disabled / every frame / every 2,3, or 4 frames. This is good for higher refresh rate monitors to prevent GPU stress. If your monitor runs at 120Hz or higher, set VSync to every 2 frames to prevent overheating while keeping the game running smooth at 60Hz or above.

Settings - VSync Improvements

Added ability to set VSync to disabled / every frame / every 2,3, or 4 frames. This is good for higher refresh rate monitors to prevent GPU stress. If your monitor runs at 120Hz or higher, set VSync to every 2 frames to prevent overheating while keeping the game running smooth at 60Hz or above.

Bugfixes

  • Score counter on Game Over screen no longer breaks when getting a score over 10 million

  • Boss no longer accidentally harms player when defeated

  • 5-second delay introduced before the level destruction continues after you defeat the boss

  • Ballista bolts now stick to the player, so you can see that you got hit

  • Flyer enemy ragdolls are now not triggering player melee attacks

  • You can now melee attack siege weapons (ballista and catapults) and deal damage

  • Player now runs to the right when holding gamepad thumbstick as the game starts

Visuals

  • Ballista bolts and arrows now stick to player ragdoll on death

  • Lethal catapult fireball is whiter and glows more, while lesser harmful fragments are more orange

UI

  • Game Over "best of the day" message box widened to fit localization

  • Fixed Game Over text size that was too large in some languages

  • Improved sizing of localized tutorial UI elements

  • Added missing localization for tutorial activate powerup message

Cinematic Camera Mode

New 3D Cinematic Camera Mode that can be enabled under Settings | Options - this makes it much harder to play, but it offers a unique look. I love playing this mode; it's a new fresh challenge and you have to know the levels well to survive.

Close Camera Mode

New Close camera mode that zooms in on the player - this makes it harder to play, but it shows the characters better. A fun challenge.

Speedrun Timer

You can enable a speedrun timer under Settings | Options .

One Hit Mode

You can enable One Hit mode under Settings | Options that removes the health bar and the player dies upon first hit. This is another challenging way to play the game!

Statistics

The statistics are recorded with camera mode and One Hit mode flags so statistics can be filtered, achievements, and skins can retroactively be tied to historic performances in these modes.

Localization

The game is now localized into 14 different languages. English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, German, Italian, Spanish, French, Swedish, Finnish, Russian, Polish, Korean, Japanese, and Portuguese. The translations will be improved professionally by the publisher.

Improved menu screen for selecting skins with more information about how the skins were unlocked.

You can now unlock 20+ player and weapon skins in the game! More skins will be added in updates.

Zero Inertia Stopping

For even better precise control, there is absolutely no inertia when you release horizontal input now for perfect precision air and ground movement.

On Fire Mechanic

If you get 11 kills in 5 seconds, you activate "On Fire" mode, visualized by fire and smoke on and around the hero character. When On Fire is active, kills score double to encourage fast gameplay. If you get hit (without shield) or if you don't get a kill in 5 seconds, On Fire mode is deactivated.

Ultra Graphics Mode

Another "Ultra" quality mode was added which uses depth of field on the background to separate the player and level better from the environment, and it looks nicer =) It also saturates the colors a slight bit more.

Local Multiplayer

You can now play up to 4 players locally in a cooperative mode! If a plyer dies, they respawn as other players reach a bridge.
