Story 🐙

Art Style 🫧

📢 Mangouste speaking!

We wanted to start developing a visual identity for our games. Through the Under Pressure's character duo, it allowed us to set up an artistic workflow.

The implementation of a card template seemed necessary to me, to easily deploy a large volume of assets dynamically. Any addition or modification of assets is quickly published.

It creates a very good flow between art and game engine. Hibo developped his own Unity's worflow that complete the art one. For every update or new asset, it's very easy to him. We find a good way to iterate or easily develop new prototype for futur games.

The aesthetic is simple > basic shapes, a line work, strong shadows and flat colors. A post process template was also define at the beginning of the creation, to unify the global aesthetic and the light progression.

The cards were made on Clip Studio, it brings resources like 3D poses as references to help me with camera angle.

Here are the main poses of the character.

About Kraken, we wanted him to be scary while respecting the cartoon style of the universe. His eye’s shading was very fun to do, it gives some expressions and some contrast.

Card Update 🤿

After some time using the cards in the game, we had the feeling that we could add something on the card!

The number was floating and wasn't very integrate, so I do some research and this idea came up. Some "ink" details with an inner light as the card was lighting up the edges.

It will focus the eyes more on the card! We were happy to see this update on all the card in the game!

Thank you 🙏
