UNBEATABLE changes
UNBEATABLE hits 2.0.....now!
A major, FREE patch is available today for UNBEATABLE, featuring overhauled improvements to rhythm gameplay, a multitude of fixes and accessibility additions, and fail-restart. But that's not all...
WAY BACK WHEN, the game's credits theme, is finally playable for those who've cleared the story, and APB receives a new STAR chart! In addition, we're adding a whole new challenge folio featuring new rewards in ARCADE MODE, plus all three members of ONE MORE FINAL added as free playable characters (also achieved by clearing the game's story).
And BREAKOUT EDITION owners get even MORE
Like, 6+ characters more - the entirety of H.A.R.M. is now included for owners of the BREAKOUT EDITION DLC! A new challenge folio will also be available, including even more unlockable titles and palettes! And I Crest got a new job...what's that all about?
This beefy big update for the game comes as a celebration of the game turning half a year old earlier this month, and we wanted to give everyone who's supported us from the beginning a gift to celebrate your support. It also establishes an end of the an era. This is the last big update before
OUR FIRST MAJOR DLC, THE JAMIE PAIGE CONTENT COMPANION, releases JULY 27th!
The full-on collaborative project with vocal synth producer Jamie Paige is almost here! UNBEATABLE - THE JAMIE PAIGE CONTENT COMPANION, releasing next month for $9.99 USD (with regional pricing, ofc), features 12+ songs, over a third of which are original tracks made for UNBEATABLE specifically. We've also got two new characters, background music videos (for the first time!), two new stages, a bevy of extras, Some Secrets, and bird watching.
We put a lot into the DLC, almost to the point where we considered cutting some of it for scoping reasons, but we ultimately wanted to make something that is more than worth the cost (which is $9.99 USD, by the way) and is a massive love letter to both fans of Jamie-P and UNBEATABLE. We're honored to have not only have Jamie-P's blessing but also her full participation in the project!
It'll be available July 27th. The Wishlist page will go live later in July.
UNBEATABLE will also be playable in Simplified Chinese / Japanese on JULY 27th!
Thank you SO much to our overseas fans for waiting - UNBEATABLE's Simplified Chinese and Japanese localizations will launch alongside our DLC release in July as a free update, including fully translated interfaces and story dialogue! Work on this was extensive, and was a huge effort on the part of several members within D-CELL, our translators, and Playstack to make this happen. For those looking to finally hop in and experience the story for yourself, we hope you enjoy!

UNBEATABLE comes to NEW PLATFORMS
We're bringing the game to Nintendo Switch 2 on JULY 27th, launching alongside the Jamie Paige DLC and new languages. This version of the game will come bundled with the BREAKOUT EDITION as a bonus - AND it will be available physically in collaboration with our partners at iam8bit!
(And yes, physical versions will also be made for PS5 and Xbox! Pre-orders go live later in July.)
In addition, a mobile version is also in development! We'll have more news to share about this at a later date.
UNBEATABLE'S MUSIC IS COMING TO STREAMING in LATE JULY. PRE-ORDER THE BREAKOUT EP on Bandcamp NOW!
UNBEATABLE's music is finally coming to streaming starting next month! We're still working on it. In fact, official uploads of the music is releasing starting now on our YouTube! In the meantime, the BREAKOUT EP, featuring the original collab songs from the BREAKOUT EDITION DLC, is coming to Bandcamp soon, and pre-orders are open now .
UNBEATABLE (will have) NEW MERCH (soon)
We're excited to announce an early look at some new merch made in collaboration with the Yetee! These will be going live, soon. I don't know when, RJ didn't say. And yes, RJ didn't write this one, it was I, J- [rj edit: i don't know. soon!]
And if you're still considering the Beat Plush / Quaver figure from our friends at Youtooz, time's not run out! Yet. (There's been an extension).
Lastly, we'd like to give an update to backers of our Kickstarter / Slacker Backer campaign regarding their promised physical goods: designs have been completed and we're currently in the process of finalizing logistics and manufacturing of the CD, T-Shirt, and Poster (the artbook is still a work in progress. We're literally still making new artwork after all). It's taken a lot longer than expected but we're hoping to have more news soon. Please keep an eye on your inboxes and our socials for a follow-up update in the future!
And UNBEATABLE WILL HAVE MORE
For now, we're keeping it focused on primarily new additions to ARCADE MODE this time around, but you can expect:
A brand new DLC, now in early production!
FREE PLAYABLE SONGS releasing every month on all systems for the remainder of 2026!
And as a part of that, NEW COLLABORATIONS, including one with MOON CHILD releasing in August and another one with RUBATO (happening later this year!)
Reworked STAR RATING system + Difficulty Re-Rate Pass
The aforementioned Simplified Chinese / Japanese localizations, releasing in PATCH V2.1!
Depending on how everything shakes out, we're hoping for UNBEATABLE to be a game we can continue to support for the foreseeable future - and we want today to show our commitment to getting as close we can to that. The show's not over.
To wrap everything up, here's the patch notes for today's big patch!
PATCH NOTES FOR V2.0
MAIN CORE CHANGES
A large variety of rhythm game-related bugs (spike bugs, broken offset, etc.) have been fixed as a part of an internal refactor of our main rhythm gameplay! No more weird misses or drops - now it'll likely be your fault, for real! And if there are still more, they'll be much easier to fix in the future!
Assist Mode has been tuned up and will now succeed at more patterns consistently and is MUCH more reliable. (Fun Fact: It actually ended up being too good during our work on this patch and prevented us from catching erroneous patterns, so it also got nerfed slightly after the fact.)
Reworked the OPTIONS page in the main menu, separating out game features and allowing for more options to be added. Various options previously exclusive to the ARCADE MODE menu are now also in this menu.
- NEW OPTIONReduced Strobing FX. This affects certain story sequences, including the "Installer" opening, Episode 2 Setpiece, and multiple scenes in THE MOVIE. This option can be turned on as a part of the Installer opening.
NEW OPTION: Alternative Color Scheme for the Baseball Minigame effects.
Fixed animation errors relating to assist characters in rhythm gameplay.
(Consoles Only) Adjusted achievement requirements to make the "platinum" achievement viable and allow for 100% completion.
Fixed incorrect OFFSET WIZARD background.
Fixed Title Music being desynced.
Fixed DLC Loading Issues on bootup.
STORY MODE CHANGES
Addition of FAIL-RESTART option to various rhythm gameplay sequences in the STORY MODE. This generally applies to fights that didn't previously have checkpointing and instantly skipped you through the fight, now allowing you the option to retry or skip through it.
Fixed mistimed "snapping" animation during Episode 0.
Fixed issues in Episode 3 where Beat and Poco/Apoco appeared incorrectly during certain cutscenes
(PC Only, to be in a later patch on consoles) Fixed a pathfinding issue in Rest's Office in Episode 3.
Additional fixes to pathfinding throughout.
Fixed issues with grass rendering in certain scenes.
(Xbox) Fixed memory related crashes in various scenes.
Fixed the GAME OVER SCREEN clipping through geometry in various scenes.
Fixed the health bar incorrectly rendering in several scenes.
ARCADE MODE CHANGES
Added FOR ALL PLAYERS, Eve, Grace, and Rest (OMF) as playable characters to Arcade Mode. They are unlocked automatically if you've cleared the game's story mode.
Added WAY BACK WHEN, unlocked for those who've cleared the game's story mode.
Added a STAR chart for APB, the "run that back!!!" difficulty.
Added a new bonus folio containing challenges and rewards relating to our free post-launch content.
Added "clear enemy debris" option, for hardcore players looking to further limit clutter on the screen in high density charts.
(PC Only, to be in Consoles in a later patch) Added the PlaybackStage. This stage has the ability to play video playback on select songs. You'll see this in action when The Jamie Paige Content Companion DLC releases next month!
Background characters in Arcade Mode stages are now themed based on the selected character(s) - i.e. Choosing Eve will have Rest / Grace appear in the background.
(BREAKOUT EDITION DLC) Added Poco, Apoco, Crest, DC, Penny, and two secret extras to Arcade Mode as playable characters!
(BREAKOUT EDITION DLC) Added a new challenge folio featuring extra titles and unlocks.
Adjusted sync for WAITING.
Fixed duplicate characters appearing in the background.
Fixed instances where certain effects persisted even after rhythm gameplay ended.
(PS5) Fixed challenge progress randomly resetting after completing the birthday challenge.
(PS5) Fixed a cash that occurs when accessing certain challenges after receiving a notification.
THINGS WE'RE LOOKING AT
For console players, some challenges in the BREAKOUT EDITION folio may not unlock correctly. We're looking to amend and address that in a future patch submission, and will keep you posted!
Subtitles in Voiced Cutscenes: This didn't make it in time for 2.0, but the inner workings of it are complete and we'll be looking to set this up in a later patch!
We hope to improve performance for UNBEATABLE in the future to make it more accessible on a wider variety of hardware!
We made a change to the rating system to prevent “critfails”, although it is causing an unintended side effect that makes increasing rating much harder than intended. We’ll be rolling a hotfix for this when we can!
