Hey, I Should Probably Introduce Myself

Two years ago I started building Typing Stars because I wanted my son to have a distraction free, ad-free way to learn how to type. Everything that came up on Google was filled with ads and a lot of noise.

addedTwo years ago I started building Typing Stars because I wanted my son to have a distraction free, ad-free way to learn how to type . Everything that came up on Google was filled with ads and a lot of noise. It slowly morphed from a simple proof of concept into something that I wanted to build a world and story around, add more mini games and eventually use this as a project to release my first game on Steam. I hope everyone who has a chance to play the game during Next Fest has enjoyed the vibe, but I have to say watching him play it recently has been my biggest motivation to get through the finish line. I'm flannelbeard, and this is my first game on Steam. Typing Stars is a side project where I got to stretch (it's still stretching) my creative muscles into story and world building. It's inspired by Frog Fractions, Pony Island, and those old DOS typing games we all played in school computer labs.
changedOh and I just pushed a demo update with improved menu sounds. I hope I didn't break anything.

If you played the demo, you got a taste of the time trials. The full game opens up into Wario World-style minigames. As you play, the story begins to play out in the words you are typing.

The game has been built almost entirely on Twitch. Come hang out some time and watch it come together as we finish up and prepare to release the full version. Thanks for playing and wishlisting during Next Fest. More to come this month.
