TypeCaster changes
It’s been a while since we posted something here, so we wanted to do a little catch-up.
The last few months have been… a lot. In a good way, thankfully.
First of all, TypeCaster finally has a publishing partner! We’re now working together with Yellow Hearts. Yeay!
After that, things kind of moved pretty fast for us.
In March, TypeCaster was selected for Tokyo Indie Game Summit as the only game from Indonesia. That was honestly a very special moment for us.
Then in May, we brought TypeCaster to BitSummit in Kyoto. We met a lot of players, devs, and industry friends there. Watching people try the game in person, mess up some spells, laugh about it, then slowly get into the typing-combat rhythm was really fun to see.
And in June, TypeCaster was also selected for SEA Game Showcas e.
So yeah, the past few months were pretty packed with event prep, showcases, travel, meetings, and a lot of follow-ups after that. That’s also why we’ve been quieter than we wanted to be here on Steam.
On the development side, we’ve also made one important decision: we’re adding colors to several elements inside the game.
TypeCaster started with a very strong monochrome look, and that identity is still important to us. But after seeing people play the demo and after going through feedback, we felt that some parts of the game could be clearer and more satisfying with a bit more visual contrast.
So in the latest version we’re working on, things like fire, water, and other elemental effects will have more color treatment. The goal is not to completely change the look of TypeCaster, but to make spells, effects, and certain combat moments easier to read and more fun to look at.
Other than that, we’ve also been working on the usual but very important stuff: bug fixes, balance tweaks, UI improvements, and a lot of polishing here and there.
You’ll be able to try this updated version in an upcoming demo.
When exactly? We’ll update you on that soon.
And moving forward, we’ll try to share updates more regularly here, at least once every two weeks until the game is released, even if it’s just a small progress update.
We want you to be able to follow how TypeCaster is coming together from here until release.
Thank you so much for sticking with us, trying the demo, wishlisting the game, and supporting TypeCaster so far.
We’ll be back with more updates soon.
Until then, keep typing!
