Twilight Wars changes
Ping, Warden.
The new Playtest build of Twilight Wars is now available on Steam. I have ensured it includes all recent operational changes. You are invited to join the simulation, assess performance, and report anomalies.
If this is your first activation
welcome. The current build will allow you to understand the tactical structure, experience the world, and evaluate your compatibility with the mission.
If you are returning
expect system-level changes.
This marks a critical milestone in Twilight Wars development. The systems you are about to engage with closely reflect those intended for the full release. Your feedback at this stage is not only welcome - it is essential.
We require your insights to validate core mechanics, balance, and experience flow. Every report brings us closer to operational readiness. Proceed with care. Report thoroughly.
How to Join the Playtest
It’s super simple – just two clicks! Visit the Twilight Wars Steam Page, click “Request Access”, and you’re in. Play, explore, break things. Report bugs. Drop your feedback through the in-game form or on our Discord channel.
Below is a comprehensive summary of all modifications introduced in this Playtest build, as well as key deviations from the previous demo version. Proceed with analysis.
🆕 New Features in the Playtest:
Easy & Hardcore Difficulty Modes. Easy lets you replay missions and fights - ideal for exploring the lore. Hardcore? One shot, no do-overs.
New Unique Agent: The Drone
New Base Module: The Workshop
Soundtrack Library: Listen to unlocked music tracks from your base.
Day Skip Option: Take a break between missions.
New Codex: Detailed explanations of all core mechanics.
- Psycho Perk System ImprovementsDeeper growth options and new behaviors.
Health, Defense & Evasion indicators above characters during combat.
Game Over on Negative Balance: Don’t let your agency go bankrupt!
Agent Salary Requests now matter: Ignore them and face the consequences.
New In-Combat Help Screen: Press "H" to get quick info during battles.
Hotkeys: Use items and abilities faster and smoother in combat.

Tutorial Overhaul & Smarter AI: Enemies are now deadlier and more strategic.
Faster Combat: Rebalanced stats speed up mission tempo.
- Save System OverhaulAlong with improved perks, recon, squad strength formula, and status effects.
- Messenger UpgradesReactions, notifications, and message history added.
Base Stability Improved: Better module functionality and mission logic.
Unbalanced Skills Removed/Reworked + major bug fixes.
UI now scales properly at all resolutions.
