TurretGirls changes
We have some valuable intel about some major design changes that are incoming via Content Update #3! Feast your eyes!
We’ve seen people chew through the content and absolutely destroy Endless Mode. Well, HQ is telling us that these new design changes will really test your mettle as bonafide Turret Pilots. Here’s the nitty gritty:
New Stage: Midnight Siege
The moon rises over the newest and hardest stage: Midnight Siege!
Aliens rage in the night in numbers never seen before and have spawned new monstrosities to strike fear into the hearts of our heroines!
Shield Elite
This stage features a new enemy type: the shield elite!
Shield elites do not attack the player but will quickly throw up a shield in front of them to guard their allies
Their shields are tough but can be broken with enough firepower
Alternately, you can kill them with a direct hit if you have the right angle!
New Boss
Stage 4 also features a brand new boss!
This one is a little different from what you have faced before so stay on your toes!
Crisis Levels (New Difficulty System)
In addition to the new stage, we have a brand new difficulty system called “Crisis Levels”
With this system now every normal and endless stage will have 4 new difficulty levels!
Across both normal and endless, that comes out to 32 new challenges to overcome!
Difficulty Modifiers and Clear Rewards
Each new Crisis Level brings tougher enemy spawns and will present players with unique difficulty modifiers that switch up how the stage should be played
Sometimes your reload speed will be debuffed, sometimes enemies will move faster, as levels go up the modifiers get harder and harder!
But with more risk comes more reward. Challenging these crisis levels will earn you more unique currency per run and give you bundles of currency as a reward for your first time clearing them!
Crisis Level Progression
In order to unlock higher and higher crisis levels, you need to beat a certain number of stages on the current highest Crisis Level
You can check the conditions and progress by hovering over the skull icon on the progression gauge.
Can you unlock and clear all the Crisis Levels? Good luck!
New Legendary Weapons
To help players tackle the new Crisis Levels the game has to offer, we have also added 10 new Legendary versions of pre-existing weapons
These powerful weapons have a very low drop rate compared to other other versions but offer a twist to their normal behavior that make them uniquely powerful
Here are a couple examples:
Bullet-hose Machinegun
This machinegun trades accuracy for an insanely high firerate and amount of projectiles
Though at first it might seem hard to use, upgrading it and using ADS to narrow its firing spread make it incredibly powerful
Fork Laser Cannon
This is a powerful laser cannon that fires 3 lasers in a spread pattern
It may seem difficult to utilize the side lasers but with a little practice it becomes a formidable tool at wiping out ground units
We hope you enjoy finding the rest of the weapons during your runs and trying them out for yourself!
Weapon and Upgrade Balance
With the introduction of new difficulty levels and new weapons, we have made some changes to the spawn rates of weapons and passive upgrade parts in the shop
Weapon Drop Rates
Weapons now have the following general drop rates:
Normal weapons: High
Advanced weapons: Medium
Legendary weapons: Rare
Upgrades and New Items
Now even if you have all your weapon or upgrade slots filled there is still a chance new upgrades will appear in the shop allowing you to change your build mid-run
You can sell your current items to make space for new ones if you see something you want
However, in general, upgrades for currently held items are more likely to appear
We understand that these updates change the way the game has been played up until now. We plan to listen carefully to player feedback regarding these changes and make tweaks as we move forward.
Item Shop Updates
New Photo Mode Items!
We have added a new tab to the item shop where you can buy new items that can be used in Photo Mode!
The new items include a couple new poses for Girl and Raven, as well as various new animated backgrounds!
Shop Level 4 and 5
The shop can now be leveled up to Level 5!
This means clothing items for both Girl and Raven can also all be leveled up to Level 5, further increasing their power
New Music
We have four new songs!
Two songs for Stage 4 (battle and boss themes)
Photo Mode music
Item Shop music
We hope you enjoy these awesome new tunes as you play the new content!
New Achievements (Finally!)
To roll out the new Crisis Level feature and Raven, we have added 10 new Steam Achievements for everyone to unlock
Some of these require true skill to unlock, so we hope you enjoy the new achievement hunting as you try out the new features!
New Speed Control Feature
Finally, we have a small but hopefully welcome feature for those who want to speed things up a little
From the pause menu in game, you can now increase the game speed.
You can choose from the following speeds: 1.0x (normal), 1.5x, 2x and 3x speed
Phew… That’s a lot!
Content Update #3 happens to also sync up with the Steam Summer Sale, so if you know someone who would be a valuable addition to the P.A.N.T.S.U. team, now is the perfect chance to let them know!
We look forward to seeing more photos in the Photo Mode Channel! Also, don't forget to join the official Discord or help us by purchasing official TurretGirls merchandise from Popiko at: https://popiko.com/en-jp/collections/turret-girls
See you on the battlefield! ❤️
