Tuoni - Towards the Demo

Greetings all! Throwing a small update here about the current state of development and how the demo is coming together.

First of all, I am thrilled to say that the game has received almost 1,000 wishlists in its first month of visibility on Steam, and that's huge! Thank you to all who wishlisted and showed your support!

First Demo

I aim to release the first demo during Q4 of this year, to gather as much feedback as possible, and have sufficient time to incorporate changes before release in Q2/Q3 of 2026. So all ideas and feedback from the community will be super valuable.

Demo will include:

  • Handful of classes & skills to test out (specified & introduced more in later devlogs!)

  • Procedurally generated world (including procedural villages).

  • A couple of hand-crafted locations, including the start of the main story.

  • V1 of procedural dialogue/lore found in wilderness/villages.

  • Five biomes with unique enemies, beasts & fauna. (Will be posting about this soon as well!)

  • Bosses/Elite enemies, both handcrafted & procedurally generated.

  • The usual things: Combat, character development, dialogue & trading systems.

  • Recent addition: Gathering & equipment enhancing system.

First version of the Equipment Enhancing system (currently in development)

All of the systems above already exist and function fine. Most work goes into adding content (story, enemies, lore, handcrafted locations) and fine-tuning/juicing the systems, which is the main focus for the upcoming months.

The Road Ahead

After the demo is done (and with it, all the base systems in place, which is currently 90% done), the plan is:

  • Fine-tune existing systems & incorporate feedback & ideas.

  • Add tons of new content

  • Balance, balance, and balance (which will probably be slightly off in the first demo)

  • Keep updating the demo when major updates happen.

  • Prepare for a playtest of the complete product
