Truxton Extreme changes
The response to Truxton Extreme since Japan's Shooter Fest has been incredible. Seeing both longtime shmup fans and brand-new pilots get excited about what we're building has been one of the highlights of this journey. We're not done sharing what Truxton Extreme has in store.
Today, let’s talk a bit about co-op mode.
Form Your Squadron
Truxton Extreme features two-player co-op, giving players the chance to take on the alien invasion side by side. The combined score of both players is tracked together and has its own leaderboards. When you fly as a unit, the results belong to the whole team.
Shared Resources, Real Consequences
Lives and bombs belong to both of the players in co-op mode. The shared resource pool creates a co-op experience with genuine stakes. Every bomb spent, every life lost, affects the run for both pilots equally. Flying smart isn't just about your own survival. It's about keeping your partner in the air, too.
Rescue Your Wingman
When a partner takes a hit, the fight doesn't have to end for them. If you have a bomb available, you can rescue your downed team member by flying to them and making contact. One quick action, one enormous shift in momentum. It's the kind of mechanic that makes co-op in Truxton Extreme feel truly collaborative rather than just two players occupying the same screen. Some weapons even work differently!
The Invasion Is Still Coming
Don't expect the enemy to ease up because you brought a friend. The alien formations are still relentless, the pressure is still high, and the challenge is just as real. But now, the spirit of helping each other might be exactly what gets you through.
The mission just got a little more interesting.
