Repeated intro
Hello, Drivers! First things first, thank you all so much for wishlisting our game! We were blown away by how many of you saw and shared the reveal trailer a week ago then added us to your wishlist. It’s not something we take lightly and we massively appreciate it. I wanted to explain a little more about Truck-kun is Supporting Me from Another World?! and give you a sense of the game we’re currently working on. It all starts when studio head, Xalavier Nelson Jr., was introduced to the concept of Truck-kun by his wife. When he learned that the same nondescript truck hits most protagonists at the beginning of an isekai series, he thought “I have to make a game about this.” Our game is a chaotic, high speed driving game about completing objectives (complete 3 deliveries, jump 50 meters, etc.) at high speed to earn Stars. When Carissa, who your character accidentally hit with their truck and became psychically linked to, gets enough Stars, she can confront the Skeleton King in the fantasy land she was sent to and finally fight her way home. This is an American isekai story, which is something that allows us to explore our own passion for anime, as a predominantly American team, through that lens.

Because Carissa is an American anime fan who is well aware of what an isekai is, we get to explore the unique ways she reacts to being part of the stories she loves. We also want to dig into why people are drawn to these kinds of escapist fantasies to begin with.
Carissa is represented in the little Isekai window at the bottom of the screen, showing the battles she is having in the other world as you drive. When you hit a pedestrian, you are sending a monster to the other world for Carissa to farm for Star pieces. Hitting objects on the other hand, sends power to the other world for Carissa’s attacks, letting you activate her Super Burst by sounding your horn. As The Driver you’ll be doing that along with fast paced delivery jobs, finding potions and phoenix feathers, and dodging the police who would impede your quest.
We love classic arcade-style driving games like Crazy Taxi and the Burnout series, so we really wanted to make a simple but expressive driving system on a tiny, lovingly-crafted sandbox map that includes a giant, screaming man whose meat you can legally drive through. That part was important.
We can’t wait to show you more of our game, which there will be a demo for in due time, but until we can, thank you for hitting that wishlist button and supporting our small team of isekai fans! Remember: Truck-kun is not guilty! - Chris @ Strange Scaffold
