addedIn Papaya Plaza, you’ll take on the role of mayor of a small tourist town where you can decorate to your heart’s content. You’ll be helping quirky characters, unlocking new decorations, and gently levelling-up your town as you go for the 5-star rating (without too much pressure!).
addedFor the purposes of this demo, you can build as many houses as you want but your population will be capped at 8 villagers, which means there’ll be one villager you might not meet (but you’re always welcome to start a new game and see if they join!).
addedThis demo will be the first of many chances to try the game, and we’d love to hear your thoughts on what we’re working with so far. Our newly-refreshed Discord is the perfect place for you to drop by and share your feedback, bug findings, and consensus on which of the villagers is the best (it’s definitely wee Jack). If the idea of a gentle Discord community where you can share your thoughts directly with us devs sounds nice, come along and say hi. Over the coming weeks and months we’ll have art, new characters, new decorative items, and we assume hundreds of bug fixes, to share with you, and this first step is so exciting for that reason!

We’re so pleased to have announced, as part of Wholesome Direct, this afternoon our playable demo for our newest game: Papaya Plaza! Papaya Plaza started out with characters from our wonderfully-talented Stef Bollen’s art, and has grown into a slice of life town building game that we’re super excited to announcing!

In Papaya Plaza, you’ll take on the role of mayor of a small tourist town where you can decorate to your heart’s content. You’ll be helping quirky characters, unlocking new decorations, and gently levelling-up your town as you go for the 5-star rating (without too much pressure!).

Apart from meeting adorable characters and sprucing up a little town, expect to find the cute, the weird and the wonderful like:

  • A talking pumpkin (we don’t know how he’s alive and will not be taking questions at this time)

  • Haikus about a garden

  • A Confused Watermelon

  • Strangely valuable Papayas

  • This guy 👇
