SAPPORO GAME ODYSSEY 2026 Recap
Hello, this is Miura from SOUL FLASH GAMES.
On June 7, 2026, we unveiled the first playable demo of Treasure Touring at SAPPORO GAME ODYSSEY 2026.
First of all, thank you so much to everyone who stopped by our booth!
During the event, 25 people played the demo, and through surveys and direct conversations, we received a great deal of valuable feedback.
What Left the Strongest Impression on Players
In this demo, players experienced the following elements that make up the journey alongside Sarah, Michael, and Parame:
Driving
Dungeons (1 vs 1 card battles)
Campfires
Character interactions between Sarah, Michael, and Parame (with Japanese voice acting)
Before the event, I expected most players to focus primarily on the battle system and gameplay mechanics.
In reality, however, that wasn't the case.
Many players commented that:
The world was interesting
The music was great
The characters were intriguing
The campfire was relaxing
Some players listened carefully to every conversation between the characters, while others asked questions about their backgrounds and personalities.
Seeing this made me feel that our goal of creating "a game about traveling with three companions" was successfully coming across.
Campfires
One of the most interesting discoveries was how much players enjoyed the campfire.
Treasure Touring places a strong emphasis on creating a campfire experience that players can freely interact with. (In fact, development originally started as a campfire simulator!)
Players spent time:
Stacking firewood
Throwing large amounts of wood into the fire
Simply watching the flames
Everyone found their own way to enjoy playing with the fire.
We even received comments such as:
"I want to roast marshmallows."
"I want to cook food."
The campfire doesn't make the player stronger, nor does it earn any money, but hearing those kinds of requests made me incredibly happy as a developer.
The time spent around the campfire with Sarah, Michael, and Parame during the journey is one of the defining elements of Treasure Touring, and we plan to continue nurturing and expanding it in the future.
Areas for Improvement
Of course, we also discovered several issues.
The most common pieces of feedback were:
The battle system was difficult to understand at first
Players wanted camera inversion options
Watching people play in person was extremely valuable, because it revealed many areas where something obvious to the developer was not immediately clear to first-time players.
We will continue improving these aspects while making the overall experience easier to understand and more immersive.
Looking Ahead
This event helped reaffirm something important:
Treasure Touring is not simply a driving game, nor is it just a card battle game.
It is a game about continuing a journey with three companions.
We plan to further refine the unique aspects of the game, including its world, characters, and the moments spent around the campfire.
We are also planning to launch a Steam Playtest incorporating the feedback we received.
By continuing to communicate with players, we hope to build an even better journey together.
Join Our Discord
We've officially launched the Treasure Touring Discord server!
Until now, we have been focused almost entirely on development.
However, I believe that interacting with players and receiving feedback will help us create a richer and more memorable journey.
We also plan to use Discord for:
Steam Playtest announcements
Feedback collection for development builds
Community discussions
We hope Discord can become not only a place for players to connect with one another, but also a place that feels like a campfire—somewhere you can relax and spend time when you're feeling tired.
Feel free to drop by and say hello.
Posts in languages other than Japanese are more than welcome!
We'll continue sharing development updates through Steam News, Discord, X, YouTube, and other channels, so we'd be delighted if you follow the project and add it to your wishlist.

Once again, thank you to everyone who played the demo, as well as the organizers of SAPPORO GAME ODYSSEY.
We truly appreciate your support.
If you haven't wishlisted the game yet, we'd be honored if you'd do so and follow the journey of Sarah, Michael, and Parame.
See you in the next update!
