We’re excited to officially announce that TRAPPED is now fully out of Early Access!
Here’s the story: Forthright Entertainment picked up TRAPPED in a multi-game acquisition 8 years ago. Two years later, we sold it to another company. However, after 5 years with no action and with the Steam transfer never completed, the rights reverted back to us.
We had two choices: let it quietly fade away… or finish what we started.
We chose the latter.
Some might argue we should’ve left it behind. But TRAPPED always had good bones—and with some polish, it still offers hours of fun. We've all seen too many Early Access titles vanish without closure, and we didn’t want TRAPPED to be one of them.
We won’t pretend this is the best game out there. It’s indie. It’s gritty. And yeah, you’ll find better-looking games. But TRAPPED has its charm. It’s surprisingly fun, often in ways we didn’t even plan. Sometimes it’s funny without meaning to be—and that’s part of the appeal.
So what does "finishing" the game mean? Let's dive in.
We’ve rebuilt the game in Unreal Engine 5.5 and made major improvements to bring it to a stable, playable, and complete state. It’s still an indie survival shooter at heart—rough edges and all—but we’ve embraced what makes TRAPPED fun: fast-paced action, co-op chaos, creepy enemies, and competitive survival modes with friends.
This is a budget indie title, priced accordingly, and made with heart. If you and your friends enjoy fighting off waves of enemies, exploring eerie environments, or just seeing who can survive longer— TRAPPED is for you.
