fixedThom, looking back on his time on the project so far, said: " When I first spoke to Dom (Creative Director for Townbox) in late 2023, it was such an intriguing proposition. How do you craft a soundtrack for a game with no fixed narrative path, where the player shapes their own story? Those early conversations circled around themes of home, warmth and a playful sense of mystery to accompany players through the game at the pace they choose.
changedOur goal was to create music that feels comforting and welcoming, yet still carries moments of curiosity and discovery as the player embarks on their journey. Townbox exists on a distinctive planet shaped by science, mechanical worlds and self-exploration. Blending these qualities with the game’s quirkier moments led us toward a palette of unusual and characterful electronic textures, synthesisers, theremins, manipulated voices and many other unexpected analogue sounds. Throughout the score we wanted the music to return to a sense of heart and belonging. I’m so delighted to share the first two tracks from the game’s score: Around the Block, which players may recognise from the game’s trailer, and Create & Dream, our title theme."

To accompany the release of Townbox™ Blueprints, the team dug through concept art, doodles and visual detritus from the game's early development to produce a unique retro collage-effect album art packed full of familiar (and less familiar) friends, including early renditions and unused designs. In other words, a rare glimpse of unseen material that is sure to provide some tasty morsels for the most eagle eyed fans!
