Patch R1.5.11 - Flexible Factions Update 📜🎉
Hey Townies! The Flexible Factions update is now live! This update brings multiple balance changes primarily focused on the Coven faction, the Anomaly modifier, gamemode updates, and a brand new roledeck mechanic called Flexible Factions.

Flexible Factions:
Roles and rolebuckets can now have their starting faction specified in the roledeck. This allows for countless new gameplay scenarios, such as a Neutral Apocalypse bucket in the Coven, or a Hex Master in the Town!
Only Flexible roles and role buckets can have their factions changed. All roles, except for Neutral Evils and Vampire, are Flexible. All rolebuckets that do not contain Inflexible roles are Flexible.
The available Flexible Factions are Town, Coven, Apocalypse, Vampire, Wandering Souls, and the role/rolebucket's default faction
New Modifier: Anomaly
The Anomaly modifier adds random Modifiers and Bans at the start of the game
There will always be at least 1 Modifier and 1 Ban added
Each additional Modifier or Ban added is half as likely as the previous one
Casual:
The total number of roledecks in the Casual mode rotation have been increased from 8 to 10
Two roledecks will now be rotated out every 2 weeks instead of only 1
We have updated almost every existing roledeck, check them out in-game to see what's different!
All Any:
We will be testing a mixture of the Grace Period and Secret Killers modifiers in All Any over the next few weeks. Based on community feedback and gameplay statistics, either of these modifiers may become permanent parts of the mode.
A new All Any variant named "Anomaly All Any" has been added. This variant uses the new "Anomaly" modifier.
A new All Any variant named "Many All Any" has been added. This variant allows you to vote for which existing variant (AAF, TAA, AAA) you would like to play before the game starts.
Coven Power roles are now mutually exclusive, meaning there can only be 1 present per game
Hangover now grants Control Immunity
The roledeck UI now features modifier, faction, and ban headers
The roledeck UI will now resize to fit the screen as much as possible before needing to scroll
Modifiers are now sorted alphabetically in the roledeck
Bans are now sorted by alignment, then alphabetically in the roledeck
Modifiers and Bans are now announced in the chat at the start of game
All non-unique roles are now capped at 15 instead of 6
Ritualist's UI has been reworked to use a dropdown menu with a search bar
Enchanter's UI has been reworked to use a dropdown menu with a search bar
The Role Reveal screen has received visual improvements
Town Traitor now has a status effect icon
Common Buckets can no longer spawn Outliers
Added various new lobby icons
Upcoming Change to Seasons:
We will be moving away from the seasonal "Ranked + Content Update" structure soon. This means there will be no "Season 6" content update, but instead there will be titled content updates (Such as the "Flexible Factions Update").
The Ranked mode will move to an independent ranked season schedule starting at Ranked Season 6
Every 4-6 weeks (TBD!) Ranked progress will reset and the mode will move onto the next Ranked Season (Ranked Season 7, 8, etc.)
There will be other changes made to the mode and progression alongside these, so stay tuned!
Coven Leader Role Rename:
With the introduction of Flexible Factions, the Coven Leader can now start on any faction. Due to this, we have deemed its current name no longer suitable and have renamed the role to "Archmage".
Archmage (previously Coven Leader) Rework:
Archmage now has infinite retrains instead of only two
Archmage can now only retrain other faction members into Common Coven roles, they can still retrain themselves into any valid Coven role
Archmage's defense has been removed
Voodoo Master Rework:
Voodoo Master now has 3 abilities at night to choose between. Silence, Deafen and Blind:
Silencing a player will prevent them from talking or whispering during the following day. A Silenced player will only be able to vote once per trial, and will not be able to switch or cancel their vote.
Deafening a player will prevent them from hearing any chat messages or whispers from other players during the following day. A Deafened player will still be able to talk.
Blinding a player will prevent them from seeing anything that happened to them that night, or their role's results
You cannot target the same player two nights in a row regardless of which ability you use
Voodoo Master's achievements have been reworked
Illusionist Rework:
Illusions will no longer hide players from Bodyguard, Trapper or Deputy
New Passive Ability: Illusionist can now select a role and faction to appear as on death through their Last Will
New "Phantasm" Ability: Illusionist can cast an Illusion over every member of their faction that night, this excludes Town Traitors. This ability has 1 charge.
Berserker Rework:
Berserker may now attack every night after night 1
Berserker now starts with a Basic Attack
Berserker's first kill will now upgrade their attack to Powerful
Enchanter Buff:
Enchanter's alter ability now allows them to select a faction to appear as on death
Plaguebearer Buff:
Plaguebearer's neighbors will now start the game infected
The nearest neighbors are the two players with houses next to yours, or the player numbers directly above or below yours
Example: If you are player 5, player 4 and 6 will start the game infected
Medusa Buff:
Medusa will now start the game Stoned
Witch Nerf:
Witch will now grant Hangover instead of Control Immunity
Flexible Factions Role Changes:
Vampire:
With Flexible Factions, Vampire will lose a conversion charge for every player who starts on the Vampire faction
Example: There is a Vampire Jailor at the start of the game, the Vampire will now start with 2 conversion charges instead of 3
Enchanter:
Enchanter will now frame other players as their current faction
Soul Collector:
Soul Collector will now frame other players as their current faction
Ritualist:
Ritualist can now target all roles regardless of their faction
Every Neutral Killing and Neutral Apocalypse role can now wield the Necronomicon when on the Coven Faction:
Serial Killer requires the book to Attack, and will permanently remain on cautious without it
Shroud requires the book to Attack or Shroud
Werewolf can now deal a Basic Attack with the book on a non full moon night. Werewolf requires the book to Rampage on a full moon night
Arsonist can now deal a Basic Attack with the book. Arsonist requires the book to Ignite, but can still Douse players without it
Plaguebearer with the book will now deal a Basic Attack to their target alongside infecting them
Berserker requires the book to Attack. Berserker can attack on night one with the book if Grace Period is inactive
Baker can now deal a Basic Attack with the book
Soul Collector with the book will now deal a Basic Attack to their target alongside reaping them. Soul Collector will no longer be astral with the book
Transformed Horsemen do not require the Necronomicon
Dual Buckets will now correctly display both role/rolebucket icons instead of showing an Investigator icon
Fixed visual bug with Retributionist/Necromancer using hidden/stoned roles
Fixed multiple Wandering Souls faction members not leaving the town when the last Cursed Soul dies via a day kill
Fixed not all astral attacks ignoring Bodyguard/Trapper
Fixed Cursed Souls not 100% swapping with target when not on the Town or Wandering Souls faction. Keep in mind the Cursed Soul will swap with a random target instead if the following conditions are met:
The target you're trying to swap with is unswappable (NE + Vamp)
Another Cursed Soul has swapped with your target already
Fixed Retributionist and Necromancer not being able to use Catalyst
Fixed Retributionist not being able to use evil roles that were on the town faction
Fixed Berserker Rampage ignoring roleblocks
Fixed using Smog on a Hex Master not working properly
Fixed Trickster failing to unleash an attack absorbed from a town member on the coven faction
Fixed Jailor attack being pseudo-Unstoppable
Fixed Cultist Indoctrinate UI not working on the hotbar in Mobile
Werewolf will now rampage at home if witched into themself
Fixed Admirer not getting notified if there are no valid Obsessions available
Fixed a bug where if multiple people heal a Bodyguard when counterattacking an attacker, only one of them gets notified
Fixed Crusader not getting notified that their target was attacked when saving a Bodyguard that was counterattacking an attacker
Fixed a bug causing dead players to go up to trial post-prosecutions
Fixed a bug related to "Win game as X role Y times" achievements. Those achievements now grant retroactively, you'll have to win 1 more game with the role for the game to grant you your missing achievements.
Fixed mobile player list UI shifting out of bounds
Fixed Retributionist not getting info that a trap is built or information of visitors when reanimating a Trapper
Fixed Witch not stealing results from Trapper
The Necro Passing Menu will no longer visually reset votes between play phases
Serial Killer's Bloodlust message will now show their target's name instead of "%target%"
Plaguebearer will now appear infected to their teammates at the start of a game
Jester can no longer increment their chatterbox during a short window before their last words on trial
Perfect Town is now based on faction instead of role alignment
Dreamweaver is now based on faction instead of role alignment
Fixed Username Changes reverting
