Why this early update?
According to the schedule we previously shared, we were originally planning to release the tournament content update in early May.
However, we realized that this update would coincide with the Steam Deckbuilders Fest (May 5-12), which we plan to participate in. This festival is a rare opportunity, and we hope to use it to attract more new players so we can continue developing the game.
The tournament update is experimental; it’s more about giving players a taste of a rough, early-stage mode with limited content, rather than a fully polished game mode. In other words, it’s better suited for players who are already familiar with the practice mode, rather than newcomers.
If new players were to encounter the “Tournament Mode” in its current state (which appears much more formal than “Practice Match”), they would likely perceive our game as a game with severely lacking content. This could lead them to refuse to try other game contents and result in a poor gaming experience—something we really, really want to avoid.
Therefore, we have decided to postpone the Tournament update. However, simply doing that would be unacceptable, as this would break our promise!
To mitigate the impact of the Tournament mode delay, we’ve decided to compensate everyone with this early update, which is by no means lacking in content: extensive card adjustments, over 20 new cards to complete the dual-season card design, and the opportunity to experience some Tournament Mode features (Shop Refresh and Deck Building) in Practice Mode ahead of time!
We’ll update the Tournament mode as soon as possible after the Steam Deckbuilders Fest. See you then!
