ToMyX changes
๐ฎ A Big Gameplay Change for the Future of ToMyX
Since the last update, I've been experimenting a lot with the gameplay and I've made a decision that will have a big impact on the game.
After spending countless hours playing the demo, I realized there was a way to make battles even faster and more enjoyable without losing what makes them fun.
So I've redesigned the control system... and I think the experience is much better because of it.
๐ฅ Now All You Have to Do Is Move
Until now, ToMyX used a manual twin-stick shooting system: you moved your character while aiming and firing with the mouse or the right analog stick.
After a lot of testing, I've replaced it with an automatic firing system.
Now your character automatically shoots at the nearest enemy, allowing you to focus entirely on dodging, positioning yourself, and making the most of every movement.
The result feels much more dynamic, especially during the most intense moments.
๐ฑ Also Looking Toward Mobile
This change has another major advantage.
For quite some time I've been thinking about bringing ToMyX to mobile devices, and this new control system fits touch controls much better.
I can't promise anything just yet, but I wanted the game to be designed from the start so that a future mobile version would feel like a real game rather than just a simple port.
โก Taking the Opportunity to Polish Everything
While I was redesigning the controls, I also took the opportunity to improve lots of smaller details.
Movement feels more responsive, the pacing is faster, and overall the game is much smoother than the version shown during Steam Next Fest.
They're small improvements individually, but together they make the game much more fun to play.
๐ Full Speed Toward the Final Release
And finally, some good news.
Development is moving forward at full speed, and my goal is still to have the final version ready this year.
There's still plenty of work ahead, but every day ToMyX feels closer to becoming the game I imagined when I first started this project.
As always, thank you so much for sticking around, playing the demo, and supporting the project. โค๏ธ
