Major New Feature

Key Rebinding

Keyboard players can now fully customize their controls.

You can rebind the keys used for gameplay directly in the settings, allowing you to tailor the layout to whatever feels most comfortable.

This also means keyboard play is now fully supported in Tomo Jam.

You can also now switch control modes without loading into the calibration menu, making it much quicker to jump between play styles.

This is an extremely wide-reaching change and may introduce bugs I didn't catch. if anything feels off, please let me know in Discord, the Steam Community discussions, or the in-game feedback form.

Song Browser Improvements

Searching for songs should now be smoother, especially on keyboard and Steam Deck.

  • Opening the song search UI in keyboard mode will no longer trigger the in-game on-screen keyboard, just press the bound key to open search and start typing

  • On Steam Deck, the native Steam keyboard now opens instead

Folder Sorting Improvements

Nested subfolders now sort to the top of the list instead of the bottom, making it easier to navigate large music libraries.

UI Customization Improvements

More options have been added to the Customize panel so you can better tailor the note buttons to your preference.

You can now:

  • Change the size of the icons inside note buttons

  • Force the left keys to use the same directional backgrounds as the face buttons

  • Display arrow indicators instead of the bound key on the left notes

These options should make it easier to create a layout that works best for your setup and play style.

Other Fixes

  • Fixed several grammar and typo issues in tutorial dialogue

More improvements are on the way, and many of these updates came directly from community feedback.

Thank you to everyone playing, testing, and sharing ideas. You are the true heart and soul of Tomo Jam.

Keep on jammin'! 🎶
